Official Halo 3 Thread

The thing that throws me is the same thing bothering Tom. I am shooting someone what seems like 50 times and it does not kill them and they run up and shoot me once and I am dead. I know what weapon you use matters, but I can never find any of the good ones.

It is fun though.

A lot of that has to do with learning to melee as soon as someone is near you. I had the same problems when I first started Halo 2 on LIVE. It's all about practice and like I said, learning where the best weapons are for your style.

With all of the moving and jumping I can't aim my weapon. If I hold still and try to aim then somebody comes up and pops me in the head, lol.

That was my same problem last night in my first foray into the matchmaking mode. Finally scored a kill by knocking someone in the head before they did te same to me. But my one kill to the winners 20 or 30 something just doesn't match up

maybe someday I'll get the hang of it though

I do have fun playing, but the frustration level is high enough that it falls short of being addicting for me.

Don't worry Tom... It just takes time. Use the melee like crazy, dual wield pistols whenever you can, aim for the head if possible and try to sneak up on people. After a while you will find your niche. It took me a little while too.

When I came online for Halo 3, I hadn't played for a loooong time and was insanely rusty. And in fact.. hadn't played online ever before. Yeah, I was being slaughtered at first. And got a little frustrated, thinking that I just sucked and wasn't as good at this game as I thought. But after a few days of matches, I was killing just as much as Ill and Loki... well... not as much but damn close.

Just stick with it bro. Soon you will be killing with the best of em.

Damn, i wish i could have played with you guys last night but something went wrong. When i accepted the invite from Ill Jedi it started connecting and then it said something about the connection being different and i should check out Bungies website for info, but i couldnt find s***

Great games last night. Got to play a couple games right after work untill the wife and kids got home, and a couple more after they all went to bed. It's quite funny to hear the change in BadMoon when you're not playing with him the whole night.

On a side note, if anyone has a chance, I'd love to get some reputation stars. Please leave some positive feedback on my Gamertag, tired of seeing 3 stars when it seems everyone else has 5.

The kids are going to their grandparents tonight so the wife and I will be going out! Doubt I'll get to play tonight. I hope we get a another big group on Sunday, last Sunday was a blast!

Any help on how to post some Halo videos? I got three sweet head shots in my matchmaking game last night. Freaking halarious watching them in slomo, and from every angle.

Well, you can upload the videos to your Bungie.net account and people can download them and play them through Halo 3 (it just saves the data for the game and doesn't actually make a video file).

If you want to make a video of something to post on the internet (like Youtube) then you'd have to get a capture card for your computer, where you would plug in your Xbox output into the computer and then record it from there. But that would cost money, and if you want a good one that can do HD then it would cost like $100
