Really hope Snape gets re-worked. He's my favorite next to Sirius, Sirius is great but this Snape leaves a lot to be desired and makes the Medi look amazing which isn't something too often said

What the **** is happening Star Ace? Seriously, what the ****? You literally knock it out of the park with your Harry, Ron, Sirius, Tri-Wizard Harry, Hermione, Voldy, the Quidditch Set, Hagrid. Even made a comparison of surpassing SSC and maybe just maybe matching Hot Toys.... then for the two most anticipated figures Snape and Dumbledore... this is what we are getting? Line the great figures up against these and I would say they are made by two different companies.

These HAVE to be protos that were thrown together last minute... right?

What a letdown.

"Snape" does not look good. Accessories look good, nothing else does. Complete redo. If not, I need to find the Medi Snape.

Dumbledore accessories look good. Sculpt is good, hair looks okay... but the beards... oh my god the beards.... just..... good at a distance, but up close it is really rough. Even the robes... just look low quality. Like the Mad Eye robe.

Pull it together Star Ace. I know you can make incredible figures, but these are far from incredible.

I am scared for Year One Hermione now...

Maybe they need to slow down on the releases they've got lined up. Quality is better than quantity, and they need to get these figures looking good.

I can't read this thread = I'll just say = most of you are wrong.

Nice, that last pic with Harry on the Firebolt is one I've been waiting to see! Really looking forward to getting my hands on that one!

Most of them looks really lacking, harry potter quidditch not looks like him at all. They are below standard of hermione sculpted by Yulli, snape just laughable. Hermione in party gown is still odd choice, why not just in Hogwarts uniform or some sort

Well the pics told the truth.. I think the showcased new stuffs from Star Ace don't look good at all, even the Snape on Dave's pic still looks so wrong. I really hope they fix it, otherwise, it's a major fail.

I really don't want to, because I really wanted all of this line, but I agree with everyone that these are just not looking good. Such a shame.

I don't know what happened to Star Ace - they started so brilliantly. I like my Mad-Eye figure, but it could've been a lot better. Maybe they're rushing and the quality has slipped or perhaps they are indeed just thrown together prototypes. I really like the accessories though, especially Dumbledore's lecturn, those candle look like they might even light up, but either way it looks great.

This is starting to make Star Wars look like it doesn't have enough figure possibilities. :) Say whatever you will about the quality of the new previews (they need some work), but Star Ace is going *alls deep on this license, seemingly like no one else has on any license before.

Yes, if this were Hot Toys the term would be "milking". :lol

Dave can say we are all wrong, but I am looking at the SA differently now that we've seen the corners they are willing to cut to get a figure out. We'll probably get amazing photoshopped pictures where hermione doesn't look like she has a brain tumor or Snape with added wrinkles (if in fact it is year 6) only to receive what we are seeing now or worse in the case of Madeye.

The general consensus of NYCC is that it was another flop for reveals after SDCC. I only wanted to see Leonidas. It gets really annoying when you see reports of people that got to see the figure and couldn't take pictures.

******** approvals.

I'm assuming/hoping that these are WIPs that have been rushed out for the show and that these will be quite polished by the time they hit the street. Showing WIPs can be a good thing and a bad thing. On the one hand collectors are able to see that the line is indeed expanding with more characters and can start budgeting accordingly. However on the other hand, when WIPs look as bad as this latest crop the warning bells start going off and it takes a lot of improvement to win back the customer's confidence.

I haven't seen MEM, but if it's a case of photoshopping pics to make a character look good and then it ends up being terrible, that's going to wear real thin real fast. I had planned to pick MadEye up, but will now wait for in-hand reports.

Given the many resources now available for digital/traditional sculpting services, as well as high end manufacturing, painting and tailoring vendors, there is no excuse for producers to be putting half-a$$ed figures out there and expecting folks to pay $200. These ain't Barbies. There is a reason they are called "high end collectibles". There is clearly a market for the HP line, but it will dry up pretty fast. I don't care what licenses Star Ace might have, if the products aren't top notch, I'll take my money over to Hot Toys and pick up the umpteenth Iron Man armor.

Dumbledore's beard looks like something from an SNL skit.

And right now, I'm glad I have a brand new, still in box Medicom Snape in my closet, if that's what they're giving us...

^ Me too. Medicom Snape HS is surprisingly awesome, I loved it when I first received it, and now I love it even more after I saw the SA one.

Yeah, I always thought it was weird how some collectors thought it was terrible. I won it from Sideshow, and I sat there looking at it when it arrived thinking, "HOW is this not an awesome figure?"

I mean, Harry sucked, but Snape is another story entirely.

Snape looks a little better in that pic from Dave, not much though.

As I said before, Tri-Wizard and Quidditch Sets figures look awesome.

Quidditch Harry's head sculpt looks off to me, but the outfit and all the Quidditch gear looks fantastic. And the pose in Dave's latest picture is awesome too. I may be willing to over look that head sculpt because the rest of the figure is great.
