New to the thread! So excited to see a lively HP community on here. My first purchase in this line is Voldemort, and I've got Gambon Dumbledore on order. I really want Snape. What's everyone's opinion on this? I know the sculpt isn't perfect, but I really do see Alan Rickman in there. I found him for $217. Good price?

:welcome1:

Snape has mixed reactions, but if you like him then go for it. I haven't done it yet, but I'm going to combine my Star Ace Snape and Medicom version.

I picked my Snape up for £98 - $120 new, but that was an opened box. $210-220 seems to be the going rate brand new, but I'd personally aim for $180 or under.

:welcome1: to the thread! :wave

I love the Snape figure (my favourite Potter character so I am bit biased! :lol) - it's a really nice figure and well worth getting IMO :)

Thanks for the warm welcome guys! :D

I might try an eBay auction to go under $200. Or are there any freaks on here selling one? I'd be interested. He's my favorite character so I absolutely need him. Do you guys also have any good in hand pics of him? Thanks again!

I heartily recommend Snape. I was on the fence when he released, but couldn't resist as I am a big Rickman fan. Luckily I *much* preferred him in hand, a great figure.

:exactly: He is one of those figures that looks way better in-hand! :)

Great figure - I don't regret getting him at all! :rock

I found one! A freak on here was selling and I snatched it up for $190 shipped NIB. So excited to start my Potter collection with Snape!(I don't have Voldemort yet. One more flex payment lol) Those pictures in the Snape thread really pushed me haha.

I think I want the professors now. Already have Gambon on order. Is Mad-Eye Moody any good? I've heard some mixed reviews. Then of course I'll be getting McGonnagal whenever she goes up. This is dangerous. :lol

It is dangerous. :lol

Mad-Eye got mixed reviews. He was a bit clean. If you batter him up a bit he'll be fine. But it also depends on how concerned you are about his magic eye being clumsily painted in close up photos. You'll be able to find him fairly cheap now too, and that makes it better value for money for sure.

Lol what do you mean batter him up? He looks pretty good in that picture. To me, the eye always looks a little hokey, so it doesn't bother me so much. The rest of the sculpt looks dead-on. They really nailed it.

He means the coat etc looks way to clean and neat - some people have dirtied and weathered it. The sculpt looks tanned/orange, and cloeup pictures like the one above highlight the poor paint/decal on the eye - the spokes. However, the eye is only really noticeable in pictures and not so much on display as it's so small you have to look closely.

For many, mad-eye is the worst of the bunch, but I overlook a lot of the problems because he's my fav' character.

I understand those sentiments. The coat seems like an easy fix and you're right, the eye is probably so small you wouldn't notice. Is the skin tone really distracting though?

I don't think he is the worst. I think all the kids except for Hermione (for some reason she's one of the best) are probably the worst. They look really doll-like and Harry and Draco's sculpts look kinda off. Ron isn't as bad. People shouldn't be so hard on ol' Moody. :lol

He's one of my favorite characters too. Hilarious and such an interesting design.
