Yikes, Year 3 Ron looks awful. I'm glad that Star Ace is making this, but... yikes. =/

Man, they're really lazy with the hands. Why does he have a trigger finger? Based on all the photos on their Facebook it looks like Ron can't even hold the wand properly. If they needed to reuse hands why not use Harry's wand gripping hand?

The head sculpt isn't Hermione bad, but it's not very good all painted up either.

I do appreciate the photo with the spider though, lol.

This Ron looks like it fit in fine with the medicom stunt double Harry.

You know how most 1/6th companies start out pretty bad and get better? Look at Hot Toys earlier products compared to what they put out now. Same for Sideshow and Asmus, they've definitely improved over the years, even if they aren't perfect.

Star Ace seems to be going backwards. They started to show some improvements but have been going backwards for pretty much the last calendar year. There hasn't been a single figure, besides maybe Newt, that I got excited about because it looks great, and I don't think I'm the only one thinking that.

I agree! Their sculpts used to be their strong suit and now look where we are...woof

When I see the figures they have up to pre-order from other licenses like Jules and Vincent and even their Audrey Hepburn figure. Someone there can sculpt decently, did they move the intern over to sculpt the HP line?

The Molecule8 website lists both HP and Fantastic Beasts as properties they’ve acquired licenses for. Unfortunately the rollout of their first figure has been plagued with delays which leaves little hope for them to even make it to HP figures.

Hmmmm. Interesting theory.

This isn’t even sub-par. They drove right passed the golf course...

Although I can’t put an ounce of logic to it, it almost feels intentional at this point. I mean how can you put out a Weasley figure, a WEASLEY FIGURE! without red hair..? It’s so inexplicable, that it almost seems like there must be a purpose behind it.

I mean I thought Teen HermIOne would be their all time low....when THIS!

If you can’t wait to order Rupert Grint’s stunt double figure its up for preorder at Big Bad Toy Store $209. $229 deluxe and a bit cheaper at Timewalker Toys $199.99 and $214.99 Deluxe.

I did notice that StarAce announced updated hands for Lucius Malfoy on their FB page so perhaps they will tweak this between now and release.

:lol :lol @ these!!

I really don't know what is going on with this line, it really is like Star Ace just can't be bothered with it anymore. Had Teen Hermione just been a 'one-off' blip it wouldn't have been so bad - could have let it go, but to follow it up with "Ron" and that terrible Lucius effort straight after isn't a good sign at all. :(

As it stands I am considering just getting out of this line completely and going with the already released figures as my Potter collection. Pity as there are so many great characters that could come out of this line and it started off so promising. Based on the earlier (much better looking) SA figures, I had high hopes for a McGonagall figure - but I dread to think how that one would turn out based on these current offerings.

Woooow how sad. Hopefully Newt at least comes out looking fine. Hermione's head is a bit too large and looking like she walked out of the 1985 movie Mask. Lucius has a bobblehead. Ron's head to me looks too small in some of these shots. All three are passes for me.

I did however just order the 1:8 scale Harry Potter in the Red and Black and a Voldemort so hopefully those turn out decent.

They honestly could have lost the likeness rights after seeing that Dementor last year too. Have they even watched the films to know what they look like??

Let us know what you think of the 1:8 figures. I'm 1:8 curious myself, lol. I just haven't pulled the trigger, cuz I figure they'll get pretty cheap in a few months.
