There was a difference in the wig for the first three movies??

Yep. The first movie wig had more straight hair than dreads and was black or a very very dark brown. In the later movies the hair had much more dreads than straight hair and more brown than black. The bandana also became a bit more of a faded red/pink color where as in the first movie is was definitely a dark red

I'm shocked that the major hold up for this release is that HT can't nail a smiling/smirking Depp sculpt. I know HT isn't big on sculpts with expressions but this is pretty odd. :monkey1

Interesting! That means I've always noted COTBP Jack as the classic first three movie Jack! Only ever thought there were differences with the first three and OST.

Jack's different look's excluding the cannibal king in each movie imo is like spiderman's in the raimi trilogy ..very subtle and not different enough to warrant other figures.

Agreed, except for the OST version though. The only little nitpick I have with this DX is that it comes from the recent movie, which defies alot of the more "Classic" Jack traits, like the lightly equipped belt (not beltS as the OST one has), the blonde hair which does not give as much contrast with Jack's face and mascara compared to the black hair, and lastly the annoyingly distracting (at least to me) patterning and lighter color of the inner vest.

Unlike the changes from the first to the second/third movies, the changes for OST were a decent amount. Other than that though, the longer hair doesn't really bother me, or the X on his face.

Not that that would put me off buying this figure though. Just minor nits.:monkey1 It's still perfect, from the movie it comes from.:yess:

Other than the 2nd pistol, there's nothing about his belts that doesn't match DMC/AWE, Curse was the only film with 1 belt and no trinkets, DMC added a belt and trinkets, and AWE added his mom's shrunken head.

Huh. Again with the things I didn't notice from Curse to DMC. :slap

Rather than more Jacks (I'm very satisfied with getting this DX and Cannibal Jack), I'd really prefer HT to give the modern HT magic touch to characters such as Elizabeth, Will, Barbossa and Davy Jones..They are all vital characters to the series and would be fantastic pieces to stand next to our Jack's :D

I'd buy a Barbossa, it's the only one from the original line-up yet to have been made a figure. A favourite of mine since CotBP too.

Wouldn't say no to a better made Keira Knightley either. :D

I agree. While I think the original figures do indeed look great, if memory serves me right, the original POTC line was made in HT transition phase from good figures to very realistic figures and it would be awesome to see the original characters revisited with the new HT touch of realism
