I want my Sparrow already. I haven't got a Hot Toys figure since T-800 T1 at the beginning of the year.

It's on the way, I sent it yesterday.

That still looks nothing like Johnny Depp to me. And why is he looking so angry? I dont remember Jack ever looking like he was about to beat the crap outta someone.
If i decide to get this he will definately be displayed with the smiling portrait.

Yep, me too. I hope the smiling sculpt is awesome 'cause the serious expression we've got so far doesn't do much for me in terms of representing the Sparrow character.

I don;t mind the serious sculpt, but if I had a choice I would prefer a much ore animated expression if it were done well. This is really mind boggling since HT has done a solid, expression sculpt with the Cannibal release as mentioned earlier. I'm all out of guesses on this one.

I'm sorry Yankee, what did you say? I keep getting distracted by the first image in your sig and wishing HT had made their hairpiece like that

...some of the secrecy is no doubt due to production issues and timing, and licensing approval etc. But part of me thinks that HT might, just maybe, be indulging in some marketing theatre by not showing the smiling sculpt. Once the promo pics are out, there's not much to surprise. By with-holding WIP shots they retain some of the buzz around the figures. Witness the Alice release, DX Bruce Lee, DX Indy, Spidey's boots, possibly CR Supes...

it may not be johnny depp enough to some (to me, it is) but it is jack sparrow enough for me to buy.

also, can't wait for the happier sculpt. that's my go to display option as well.
