Re: 【NECA T2 2nd wave in store pics】

what i lack in pics, i make up with words ;) but yeah, im just excited to finally have these in my posession. feels like ive been waiting forever!

Re: 【NECA T2 2nd wave in store pics】

I should be getting mine on Monday.

I'm still trying to decide if I should get the mcfarland for the stage four (lightly damaged) head or kit bash two Neca figures to get the mcfarland pose. I'm afraid the mcfarland might stand out when posed together since the neca ones all use the same base body sculpt. How hard is it to switch arms on these?

Re: 【NECA T2 2nd wave in store pics】

i was actually curious as well, i would like to have a final battle arnie with a not-damaged left arm but i dont know if its possible to do without ruineing the figure.

Re: 【NECA T2 2nd wave in store pics】

I'm hoping the arms can be switched with the boil and pop method, but I'm also hoping someone tries it before me.:D

Re: 【NECA T2 2nd wave in store pics】

I can't wait to see how well the 12'' battle damaged arnold turns out. Hopefully its as good as the 12'' pescadero escape. Neca pretty much hit a homerun with these amazing figures! Now I just wish a company could aquire the terminator 1 license.

Re: 【NECA T2 2nd wave in store pics】

where'd you guys get yours?

I bought my 12" Pescadero in Toys R Us for $29.99, and I don't think they're carrying the new Final Battle 12" from series 2.

I don't think he's out yet. I think he comes out more towards the end of the year.

Re: 【NECA T2 2nd wave in store pics】

Totally share your enthusiasm for these Batfreak. Your post looks like something I wrote myself. I'm hoping to have mine tomorrow after the disappointment of not getting them the week just gone. I'll honestly be crushed if I don't see a box waiting for me in work.

I agree that these don't need leg articulation, its not Van Damme here. And I'm thrilled that, since there is no hip jointing, they chose a relatively neutral leg pose rather than some dramatic McFarlane-esque wide action stance.

I also agree on the coolness of having 4 variants each with interchangeable heads. It allows for almost every combination of outfit/weapons/battledamage seen in the film. I myself am buying multiples of each figure so as to put together as many worthwhile 'versions' as possible simultaneously.

The only way these figures could be improved is with better paintjobs on the heads, particularly the non-sunglasses figures. There is also one or two accessories they didn't make that would have been nice such as the rosebox for the shotgun with the Pescadero escape figure (which lets face it is really from the mall scene); perhaps also the metal pole he uses first to prise himself free from the giant gears in the steel mill and that he then uses to attack the T-1000 before having it turned on himself. Maybe Steel Mill T-1000 will have it! :D

Re: 【NECA T2 2nd wave in store pics】

very cool adev! the steel rod seems like a pretty easy thing to make lol.

Re: 【NECA T2 2nd wave in store pics】

:banana Result! Got my 2 sets from BBTS today, so thats 2 Cyberdynes, 2 Final battles and 2 endos!

Well, fantastic figures as I knew already. The sculpting is amazing, even the bandoliers on the 2 Arnie figures are different sculpts and of course removeable. If you swapped out the gloved hands for Pescadero hands you'd have desert scenes Arnie - no 'poorly-affected* smile' headsculpt though :lol

*or should that be 'effected'

So yeah, great figures but not without issues unfortunately. These are paint and warped accessories.

I didn't get one grenade launcher out of the 4 that isn't bent to some degree. Likewise my two gatling guns are a smidge mashed in the middle of the barrells where the twisty ties held them. I think this is going to be a problem on everyone's figures.

I've also noticed more paint errors than I found on wave 1. Y'know, paint where it shouldn't be and also some paint coming off the accessories onto the figure where it might not have been completely dry when everything was put together. My Cyberdyne T-800s have some grey wash or whatever you'd call it in the wrinkles, one slightly worse than the other, which makes him look a tad zombie-like. And on the one that has this problem the worse there is also a slight excess of paint in the lips that makes them look sealed together - the normal lip seam is gone in one half of his mouth along with the sculpted lip detail that would have been there. And unfortunately all the paint problems are not limited to just one of my figures like I would prefer. My other Cyberdyne figure has paint scratched off around the base of his neck where it appears to have come off inside the t-shirt collar - so posing him looking up and off to the side isn't really an option. The paint on the Final Battle figure has some problems too. The blood on the exposed endo chest and knee looks like it was applied by a child as does the flesh coloured paint on the battle-damaged arm jacket. There are sculpted tears in the upper part of the jacket on this arm but the flesh colour is painted around these tears rather than in them. Not as bad as it sounds but I have to mention it. Lastly the eyes aren't painted great, particularly the one human eye on the phase 2 battledamage head, again one of mine being worse than the other.

That looks like a lot of negative but in reality its overwhelmingly positive. Just, if anyone is shopping for these in person rather than ordering online, study a few examples in store for the best looking paint apps and if you can see if the weapons are visibly warped.

Re: 【NECA T2 2nd wave in store pics】

Glad you got them mate, sorry to hear about the issues, though.

I kind of know what to expect with the paint, so i'm ready for that, but I really hope the weapons aren't warped in any way on mine! I can't imagine having a bent mini-gun, it would be turd. I'd also imagine it would be really hard to straighten out.

As I said congrats and I hope to see some pics!

Re: 【NECA T2 2nd wave in store pics】

It might be possible to fix the mini-gun issue by wedging something between the barrells to straighten them out. Just, as it is its a bit...zigzagging and on both of mine to a greater and lesser extent. I've seen it on other peoples' here aswell

Re: 【NECA T2 2nd wave in store pics】

Man, I cannot wait for my Toys R Us to get them! I have to have the 12" bd version and probably the 7" version also. I love that sculpt.

there's no any signs of releasing the 12"BD version in October, damn!

Re: 【NECA T2 2nd wave in store pics】

Cool. Good effort to recreate the film environments. I've been having camera problems but even in-between when I get the damn thing working (camera phone) I can't find a decent light and I refuse to use flash - I think it makes even Hot Toys figures look cheap. I think I'll wait and see what I can get in natural light.

Oh and turns out one of the problems on one of my cyberdyne T-800s isn't a problem afterall - I thought paint had come off the base of his neck when in fact it was paint from the inside collar that had come off and onto the neck - I was able to scratch it off.

Re: 【NECA T2 2nd wave in store pics】

yeah, im such an amatuer but i dont care. i discovered piknik and started doing some interesting things with the photo's, and thought i'd try it out here too. i love the "cinematic" mode that makes it look like a movie scene with the "widescreen" bars. that was nifty. i saw some model cop cars at acmoore, might get a couple to make a better T2 scene. but im no pro, i just do this stuff for fun. but i think some of them turned out better then i thought they would, though i think i goofed on a couple lol. ive been useing my digital camcorder camera with the little chip. luckoly my comp has a chip port so its easy to upload photo's. but i enjoy doing this kinda stuff, i thought back in the day i would like to do photography. its just my hobby now.
