How do we know somthing even laid them? How do we know the SJ's didn't actually create each one of them? Or maybe they appeared in some other sick, twisted yet unique way.

"How did the eggs get there? Bugs lay eggs right? Big space bug, there we go."

There are so many possibilities.

lol , I know, but if they created those eggs they would always have to create more eggs, by having a queen they would create themselves, that goes with the efficiency part of the creatures, the fact that they wouldnt need to create eggs once a queen was established,
I LOVE the queen, looked amazing on screen, but I agree that they made them bugs,

That appears to be the scene where the Engineer kills himself to start the birth of the human race and in the movie he drank the liquid that killed him alone. It seems the original idea seen here was that another Engineer was helping him and looks to be wearing a mask and robe ( probably to add to the effect of the scenes ritualistic nature ).
The Jockey in the movie is actually wearing a robe which he takes off before drinking the liquid.

I don't think that's a mask...I think that is actually an old Engineer.

I'll come out and say that I like the fact that this film leaves so many questions unanswered. The fact that you guys are still talking about egg morphing versus an egg laying Queen shows the the Alien series still leaves alot of very important questions unanswered.

The more I am thinking about Prometheus the more I am settling in the "loved it" camp. It really is a movie that can be debated and I love that! Been talking with fellow co workers today who watched it last night with me. Honestly, I wish the end didn't feel so rushed but it does pave the way for further exploration and if they would have crammed too much into it, I feel like I would be _____ing about that! I do hope a sequel gets made and Ridley Scott returns for it. Alien was tied up at the end and his vision was satisfied. I feel like another director may take the material in a different direction and hope he returns and gets us to the point of explaining the Engineer on LV-427. I think I may attend the midnight show here tonight again and watch it twice in 2 days

Yeah , you might be right. I was presuming it was something like this.

One of the questions that I've noticed people asking after seeing this movie is " why were humans given a map to a weapons facility ? ".
I'd imagine that's exactly what Shaw will want to find out in the sequel because as far as she's concerned they practically killed her boyfriend.

I would say certain answers the characters have are not clearly answered. I don't think it's confusing, just not answered here and up for interpretation and debate.

I love the scene when the Engineer is woken up. He seems like he is observing the group, then when he sees they have created life in David, I read it as the Engineer thinks that humans have created their own bioweapon of sorts and immediately destroys it and kills the humans, deciding they are now also a threat they have engineered.

I don't think the movie is confusing. It just leaves a lot of questions unanswered I think most people expected to know after watching this movie. Some of the characters motivations are questionable and to some extent confusing though. In regards to spiritual stuff it does have religious undertones throughout the movie but that's to be expected given what the film is actually about.

Apparently there are some plot holes and random things that don't make much sense. Certain character reactions being odd/unexpected, several important questions brought up in the film never being answered..etc.

I don't think I'll have a problem with it..but it seems to really bug some people.

Some of the spoilery images/concept art I've seen in the last few days lead me to believe the film does deal with more "weird spiritual stuff" than expected.

One thing I have forgotten amongst my other questions/observations is this:

Did Shaw know the exact details of why Holloway died? Like I know she understood he became infected, but did she realize it was David that infected him?

Sorry if this appears dumb of me but there was so much to take in visually and plot wise I can't recall if she got to the bottom of it?
