I will say this -- the freebie prizes have been a lot better this year than last year. I remember that a lot of them were only worth around $20 or $30 last time (like the LOTR helms). This year we get Medicom Han and multiple Hot Toys figures.

I just looked up Medi Han on SS site. Geez, didn't realize that retailed for $180

Didn't they give out 25 of those in a contest the other day?

Just because Medicom charges $180 for it, doesn't mean it is worth it. Medicom's prices are usually at least DOUBLE what is reasonable.

It does seem like SSC may have overestimated the popularity of certain bigger-ticket items lately...

I mean, I can see why Sideshow might order heavy on an item like Chainsaw Killer (looks like it could've had some serious horror-but-not-necessarily-video-game-fan crossover potential), but Medi Han is really surprising to me.

It's not like they're handing out HT Iron Men, but still. Good stuff to be had this year.

Sideshow just posted a $50 gift card code on Facebook to the first person to use it. I got lucky and used it on a Sulley VCD. Been wanting to buy it but couldn't pull the trigger at $70. But for $20, easy buy.
