Sorry , wont let me post the photo's here but here's the first photo's from the set. Unnecessary remake but it's happening.
Josh Brolin kind of looks like a gorilla.

" OLDBOY follows the story of an advertising executive (Josh Brolin) who is kidnapped and held hostage for 20 years in solitary confinement without any indication of his captor’s motive. When he is inexplicably released, he embarks on an obsessive mission to discover who orchestrated his bizarre and torturous punishment only to find he is still trapped in a web of conspiracy and torment. His quest for revenge leads him into an ill-fated relationship with a young social worker (Elizabeth Olsen) and ultimately to an illusive man (Sharlto Copley) who allegedly holds the key to his salvation. Yeah , he looks odd. Creepy looking , I suppose they're hoping to capture he strange tone of Oldboy. If this ends up with a cinema release and it stays true to the original I'm going to be really interested to see how it does at the box office. :lol

I took a bet with myself that it wouldn't be long before you were in here spreading your poison :lol

If ever there was a film that never needed a remake it is OldBoy. I cant imagine a Hollywood revision is going to capture the essence of the original, or even come close. The "one take" hammer scene was epic, and I'm not sure that they're going to manage to pull this one off.

I always get saddened by remake (the exception being Evil Dead).

I watched the original on Netflix today, and I must say that it was really ****ed up. That being said, it was some great storytelling. Whoever came up with that idea is a demented genius, and it puts most modern movie twists to shame. I'm actually interested in the remake, and that's one of the reasons why I watched the Korean version today, so, in a way, remakes aren't always bad. Sometimes, they lead those interested to the original, and, now, the bar has been set.:lol

Honestly i hated the idea of this being remade but after reading the early preview reviews i am excited to see what they have done with the story.

I feel the same way. There's a part of me that's excited to see it but the other part is angry/sad that it's being remade. Quite an inner struggle.:lol
