Re: Sideshow/ Olivetti - Venom Comiquette
I've been to Makarska many times. Actually saw Thompson in concert at the soccer stadium in Makarska quite a few years back. Hit the Cafe's and Night clubs every time I visit in the summer. Yes, I actually did learn to speak Croatian before I could speak English. My parents didn't catch on to the English language until I was about 6 or 7 so we spoke Croatian a lot when I was a kid. I don't really read or write it much and my grammar can be all over the place at times, but I can usually hold a conversation without much of a problem. To this day, my father insists on speaking only Croatian with me. He wants to make sure I don't forget the language.
I have tons of family and friends in Croatia so I always enjoy visiting. It is an absolutely beautiful country. My American friends are always blown away by the beauty of the land whenever they visit. Especially if it's their first time there. They are particularly fond of the Dalmatian coast. I have partied with family and friends from Pula all the way down to Dubrovnik. My wife's family is from Pakrac (western Slavonia) so I have done quite a bit of sight seeing when it comes to Croatia.
Good luck selling your stuff Ivo. I definitely understand the need to move a few pieces from time to time. Even if money wasn't an issue, sooner or later, space becomes one. It's something all of us collectors wrestle with from time to time.
Hey, I need some money and also I'm thinking of buying some other statues.
I'm from Makarska, we are almost neighbours. Brac is the island situated right in front of Makarska, and Sinj and Kastela are about 70km from Makarska. An hour and a half drive. Do you speak any Croatian bud
