Hey it could be worse. Ever have an oven mitt catch on fire? Happened to me when I was 16 and was cooking up some chicken nuggets after class at the time. A few nuggets fell out of the cookie sheet and I thought it was a good idea at the time to pick them up with my oven mitt. Big mistake. The oven mitt accidently brushed against the red hot heating coil on the bottom of the oven. Luckily a sink was nearby...

I think it is also very important to let you all know that if you use oven mitts, and then also use hot pads to remove cornish game hen from your oven. And then use the mitts AND pads to put them back in...remember that you did use both so that you do not leave the pad in the oven as it will fall on the heating element, erupt in flame, and ruin the Cornish Game Hen.
