P2 Elder Question

Hi guys,

I started a new thread because I need a quick answer. I can delete the thread after, since I realize we don't need new threads for every little issue.

I picked up a P2 Elder and it is missing the bone trophy necklace. I have been offered a refund, but I got the figure for a really great price and everything is mint sealed unassembled in the package. It seems Hot Toys forgot to include it and I really don't want a refund.

My question is that the necklace in question looks allot like the trophy necklace for the AVP Elder. Can anybody with both figures confirm for me if it is the same necklace? The seller might be able to replace the necklace from one in their own collection if it is the same.

Damn...now that I look at it, it looks different.

the little beaded necklace with the 1 skull he holds in the movie or the bandoleer with a bunch of skulls? the bandoleer that comes with the AVP Elder is basically the same (most HT preds come with the exact same skulls) except it has some beads on it. the P2 Elder's bandoleer just has skulls and it's basically the same as the one that comes with the P1 figure.


edit - you figured it out. the best replacement would be the P1 version. just take off the one big skull and it's pretty much the same.

yeah, the P1 version is darker. it would be easy to repaint it though. just drybrush some bone white over the skulls and you'll never notice the difference.

drybrushing is actually pretty easy. but, if you don't feel comfortable painting it yourself, i'd recommend sending it to a customizer on here. i've sent stuff to SilentSurfer and he makes everything awesome.

or, you know, just live with having the darker colored necklace. it's better than nothing and it's not gonna look too different.

That is very true. If I can get the p1 necklace, I will contact SilentSurfer. I think he has the P2 Elder as well, and will be in the best position to match the color.

yeppers. just keep in mind customizers on here usually have more than one commission going at a time, so don't expect to have yours finished in one day. it'll get done when it's done and they typically don't like being rushed and the work will suffer if they feel like they have to make you a priority. good luck dude.

Just to confirm, this is the trophy necklace we are talking about...

I just would like to be sure, as I have never seen the p2 elder's trophy in person.
Does anybody have a close up picture of the P2 elder trophy necklace to compare?
Also, is the necklace longer on the original pred vs. the p2 elder?

If I understand correctly, the necklaces are the same length. The difference is how they wear them. The p2 elder just has it around his neck. The p1 wears it over his neck and under his arm?

yep, Elder wears it around his neck. and the Elder's doesn't have that big skull on it. it's on his smaller beaded necklace instead. just take it off.

Ahhh. I see. The p1 necklace just looks longer in the pictures.

Here's another one I shot that's much closer.

Another thing that's different from the P1 necklace are the space between the skulls. It's much more wider and stays in place. The thread used is also much shorter than P1's.

Thanks for the picture. Is the bone accessories stuck to the necklace so they don't all fall together?

I don't think the p1's trophies stick to the necklace like that.

Yes, they are stuck to the thread. They can't/won't move up or down. P1's necklace skulls are not glued to the thread.

Thanks. I thought so...Unless the seller can find me one, hopefully I can snag one off ebay or somebody on the forums can help me out. The p1 necklace would still be a decent short term solution.
