Re: Pacific Rim: Uprising - February 23, 2018

I really enjoyed the first movie, so I'm ready for more.

Re: Pacific Rim: Uprising - February 23, 2018

I'm just worried about the lack of del Toro.

There was a pinch of cosmic horror in the first one that made it very interesting, I'm afraid this will go full Kong Skull Island.

i bet this is how wars are fought in that time.

mech warrior lite movie

Re: Pacific Rim: Uprising - February 23, 2018

Well Legendary left WB for Unversal in an ugly public divorce.

Chinese now own Legendary.

This movie was bound to be different than the first.

It feels and looks closer to the Japanese giant robot genre than the first one did.

Re: Pacific Rim: Uprising - February 23, 2018

i bet the kaiju bit comes out in the end.

stay tuned for the sequel bait ****. lolz

Well that's it then.

It's gonna be another crappy Chinese targeted movie, with no real characters, no real plot, and exposition every 5 minutes so that non-English speakers can follow.

This might as well be Kong 2.

I don't like the Jaeger designs at all, very generic with little charm. Hopefully they aren't the final movie designs.

At least now they look like giant robots who can take a punch from a giant monster. :dunno
In the first movie they looked fragile and impractical as ****.

GIPSY AVENGER – Gipsy Avenger honors the heroic legacy of her namesake as the flagship leader of the Mark VI fleet. More than just a Jaeger, she is a symbol of hope to millions.

BRACER PHOENIX – A Mark V brute that can still run with the VI’s, Bracer Phoenix shoots from the chest, with a centrifugal vortex cannon that is as spectacular as it is deadly.

SABER ATHENA – The sleekest and most elegant Jaeger ever created, Saber Athena is the fastest in the fleet, wielding twin blades in hyper-acrobatic combat.

TITAN REDEEMER – Built for brute force and armed with a seismic morningstar, Titan Redeemer is the walking wrecking ball of the new fleet.

GUARDIAN BRAVO – Designed for combat at range, Guardian Bravo wields the Elec-16 Arc Whip: a proto-metallic successor to the chainsword, and brings a new sophistication to the chainsword’s whiplash move.

In addition, the website’s “timeline” offers a tease of what to expect from the sequel and dates itself as ten years after the first film. It notes:

“It’s been ten years since The Battle of the Breach and the oceans are still, but restless. Vindicated by the victory at the Breach, the Jaeger program has evolved into the most powerful global defense force in human history. The PPDC now calls upon the best and brightest to rise up and become the next generation of heroes. When the Kaiju threat returns, we will be ready.”
