I liked him, but you don't need to be a consummate thespian to see his delivery is all sorts of wonky, hell you don't even need to be a native English speaker to notice.
But it's part of the charm of the movie, since the movie is all sorts of silly anyway.
Can we stop with the "if you're not professional you can't have an opinion" meme? It's the lowest and dumbest form of rebuttal, Snoopdawg does it all the time "lol SSF don't like this movie, they must be profesional directors lol", "lol SSF don't like this acting, they must be acting coaches lol", followed by "the only opinion that matters is my own".
Do you need to reassure yourself all the time like that? Do you need a degree in order to not let all this crap pass unfiltered to your brain? Have standards, Jesus.

Watched Pan's Labrynth once - never will again. Will never watch that Godzilla again either.
Have watched Pacific Rim & both Hellboy's multiple times - and will again.
Not sure what that says about my viewing preferences

I also wonder what the kaiju will look like in PR2. Given the assembly line scene at the end of the first, it'll be interesting if we get the same ones with new ones sprinkled in. Or if we completely different designs. I just hope boyega can be badass enough.
