Hi guys, I'm new here and wasn't really sure where to post this so I apologize if it's in the wrong place.

I am currently waiting for the various parts for a custom figure I'm making to arrive. The head sculpt that I've bought online looks to be really good for what I'm doing, but there's one problem: The hair is too dark. What I'm trying to make is a Cobb figure from Inception. For anyone who doesn't know this movie, it's Leonardo DiCaprio's character.

I wanted to ask what you guys think would be the best way to go about painting hair to make it lighter? I have acrylic paints and a brush that works well with them. I don't want to ruin the head sculpt, but I kinda think that doing a few thin layers will work. Maybe allow some "strands" of hair to still come through as a bit darker than the rest, to give it a bit of variety. But do you guys have any suggestions?
