Isn't that the same thing they did for Michelle Rodriguez when she violated her probation by getting that DUI in Hawaii. She turned herself in and they released her right away because of overcrowding.
Yep, they release 100s of people every week in LA for minor offenses due to overcrowding. I have seen people who where in for much worse offenses be ORed becasue they have no room.

If that is the case then, I don't have a problem with her being released. I think they should have just done that though and not had that bs medical thing.

The problem is the Judge wanted to look tough on celebs and said no home detention. The problem for the jails is not truely space in case since she is a special area for celebs, offices, public officials, etc.. but that media storm that this created. I know one of my co workers had to go to the site while she was there to work on system and they had to check him for camera, recorders etc... when normally we just walk in with our phone even camera phones with no problem. The jail doesnt have the time to be making sure someone is not going to try and get a quick buck off this and this includes the deputies working the jail. They couldnt come out and say the real reason so they had to use the BS Medical thing.

That's it then. We either need to build a celebrity jail and pour the money into to it to make it work or say, go ahead and take pictures. Otherwise it's a double standard thing and it strips away the judges ability to make rulings.

If other non-rich citizens are getting the same treatment, I have no problem with it. But if she is getting special treatment because she is rich and famous, then I have a problem. I wonder if a poor Black man would get the same option.

That might work, its honestly the media and the publics fault that this has become what it is. Many celebs have been in jails and there never has been the media storm around this. I know big $ has been offered for pics but many other celebs didnt have the same media storm and need for pics in jail.

I think the poor whatever color man unless was a flight risk would probally have a good chance to not be in jail.

I at a loss as to why anyone feels a need to start more threads about this.

But as has been pointed out - regular people are frequently sentenced to longer prison stays and then released after a couple of days. If anything, it seems that some judges are HARSHER on celebrities - look at Martha Stewart.

just read this.
had to post.
God why am I even reading this crap? I think I need to shoot myself.

UPDATE: And since there’s no better source for hard news than third party emails, heres another possible reason Paris was let out yesterday, thanks to the sexy Heather:

My friend's brother (who works with [Sheriff Lee] Baca's assistant sheriffs) told me that Paris was released due to a severe, "stress-induced" herpes outbreak. He also said that he heard that the blisters had apparently spread to her anus and had taken on abcess-like features that required more serious medical attention. Thus, after taking into account jail overcrowding, the increasing liability that Paris presents, and Paris's lesions, all things weighed in favor of her being put on home confinement.

I especially like how it said she went screaming for her mommy and crying. LOL! :rotfl :rotfl :rotfl

Paris this monkey is for you! ---------->:monkey2

LOS ANGELES - Paris Hilton was taken from a courtroom screaming and crying Friday seconds after a judge ordered her returned to jail to serve out her entire 45-day sentence for a parole violation in a reckless driving case.

"It's not right!" shouted the weeping Hilton. "Mom!" she called out to her mother in the audience.

That made my day.

To be honest I know you guys don't like her but how she is being used. Seriously she didnt release herself L.A.S.D did now the judge is changing his original ruling. Sorry she is now caught in the battle between LASD and the Judge which is not fair to her. This is not over either you know there will be more to this. Dont be suprised if there are many more court cases over this.
