:banghead I just sold two figures on ebay and the buyers paid, I was going to the post office to post them this afternoon, but paypal has put the payments on hold. either wait for 21 days with a dispute claim, or have positive feedback from the buyers.
Do I still post the figures and hope that paypal release the funds, or do I tell them to stick it and tell them to refund the buyers money and explain to them why their figures will never arrive?
any suggestions?

i mentioned this a while back but no one responded. yep they have been holding mine too. they will also release it 3 days after proof of delivery so make sure you put the tracking number into the paypal transaction on Paypal's website. i email them on the 3rd day after it was delivered and hound them until they release it. i'm glad they have the 3 day thing too because buyers are thoughtless and take their time leaving feedback. Paypal said it's because i have less than 100 feedbacks, i have like 67 feedbacks at 100%.

I've only sold 1 other figure on ebay, so my seller rating is nothing really. oh ^^^^ that's not fair! So I have to wait 21 days while the buyers have time to break or complain that the figures are rubbish, or whatever, and could claim their money back anyway?

When you mail it make sure to use a tracking number, on the paypal website you can add the tracking number to the transaction so that paypal will track it. Just make sure you submit right after, they won't do anything if the tracking shows it's already delivered, they have to see it in transit and then delivered.

balls to paypal and ebay!
It's fine as a buyer, but sucks as a seller. I think this is the last time I try and sell stuff on there. Thanks for the information. I am emailing Paypal at the moment about it.

This is why I always pay for postage thru Paypal, the tracking number is automatically put into their system and I get no hassles.

Okay, if I put my ass-hole head on and just don't send the figures out, what would happen then? I haven't technically received any money for them yet.

I didn't know about this....good to know if I ever put anything up on ebay again. That really sucks - if you were buying something from a store they sure as hell wouldn't ship it to you until after you paid - don't know why they think transactions between people should be any different.

dude I got burnt once for basically the same thing.you should not send anything till you have the money and let the buyer know what the problem is.its just like a check waiting to clear the bank.hold the item till you have your money and as mentioned make sure you have a tracking number and a confirmed address to ship to that way you are covered as a seller.you dont do that then the buyer can screw you royaly.I know it happened to me from some a$$ hole in turkey.

ebays retarded. I really think if anyone is nto this figure thing enough they should be amember of this forum anyway. You wont get a crappy price for your stuff on here so if it comes to the worst it can always sell here at " some " price.
Obviously I understand the appeal of ebay , use it myself.

Its just.... now its really starting to suck.

Damn, didn't know they did this to sellers w/less than 100 feedback. Really pretty f'd up IMO. And again, just more stuff eBay and Paypal are doing to make their services less and less appealing.

I didn't know they did this for those under 100 either. It wouldn't affect me directly (have almost 690 or so) but it really would stink.

A lot of the more recent decisions made by Paypal and eBay have made me question whether or not I want to continue to ship overseas with this whole tracking thing. I'm debating about just sticking within the US, and going Priority Mail w/ delivery confirmation on everything. I hate to do that to overseas buyers (esp. since I buy so much from overseas) but I don't want to have to screw people over with outrageous EMS shipping on every package. And *I* really don't want to get screwed when they manage to slip up and lose a package, which may have happened for the first time when I was a shipper this year.

If it's not something I can stick in a envelope, It's not being shipped overseas.

Even shipping a package to Canada or Mexico is a pain in the ass.
