It's that time - time for the Poppies and People's Picks voting for 2011! The Poppies are judged by 139 'industry' voters, people from the companies, artists, medias outlets, retailers and vocal collectors, while the People's Picks are the chance for the readers to vote against the same set of nominees. Comparing the results is always interesting...

The list of Judges for the Poppies is here:

https://www.mwctoys.com/poppies_judges_2011.htm

These are also the people that nominate the various collectibles to be on the ballot.

For your chance to vote, check out the People's Picks ballot here:

https://www.mwctoys.com/poppies_peoplespicks_2011.htm

Please be sure to include your email, since only one vote for each email is counted. Voting will be open until January 31st - thanks!

For those wondering about my picks, I will release my list of Best (and Worst!) for 2011 right after the ballot closes. I don't release it before to avoid any possible vote influence. Watch for it!

You mean the Poopies? At least that's what I've always thought I'd call them...but I don't do a voting ballot for those. The process of building the nominations for Best is hard enough and results in enough complaining, I can't even begin to undertake attempting the same for Worsts.

I will be doing my own Worsts though for all these categories, same as every year.

Voted.

Glad to see Character Options/Underground Toys included in the poll, but I was still VERY disappointed to see that their Doctor Who Classic line was completely ignored, once again. :(

Got my votes in... I appreciate the option to abstain in categories this year. I really haven't kept up with the smaller scale items and vinyl collectibles so it was nice not to have to come up with a vote in some of those categories :lol

Not sure what you mean by 'again' when talking about Character Options. Last year they were on the ballot in at least 4 categories with Dr. Who stuff. This year, no one nominated them - not sure why, but none of the judges brought them up in any other category. Titan did get a nod for their Dr. Who work.

I'm surprised the HT Indy got nominated for best figure. (Like the Golden Globes, you must be able to buy a nomination ;)) Indy for me though was the biggest disappointment, not just for last year but ever. I'm still gutted how it turned out now :(

I was kind of surprised too, but a couple of the judges were pretty adamant about having him in there. Don't let me sway your votes, but no way he's going to win - the competition is just too strong.

Thanks Michael. Voted. And as much fun as that was, voting for the Poopies would be so much more fun! :(

:D

You're going to make the Walking Dead figures the Worst, aren't you? Just to rub it in my ____ing face. :lol

The answer to every question that starts with "Why isn't XXXX on there?" is the same - the 139 industry judges didn't nominate whatever XXXX is. Even with that many people, they can't think of everything, and everything each reader might want can't be on there.

I suspect that they are goint to win a couple of my Worsts. Let's not forget though that the POTC4 figures, especially the 7" line, were pretty terrible too.

I always look forward to the results to this. I voted Jack Sparrow as best figure & Gandalf as best statue. Not that anyone's cares that is. Hopefully this time next year I'll be voting Catwoman as best female figure.
