Looks like Johnny from "True Grit." Well, I'm pretty sure that's what it is. I mean, I'm more of a guy to get more far out stuff like Vader or Freddy Kruegar, but over the years my father has made me love the Duke. This may be the first "normal" character I ever get.:D

even though this version may be from too recent, I wouldnt mind seeing how the Silver Sreen treatment would look on this type of figure.

fantastic sculpt

It's Rooster! With that twinkle in his eye, I just might need to get this one...
Is it me or does the eye patch look photoshopped?

This is a beautiful piece. I was hoping for something from The Searchers, so I'll be passing, but this is very nice.

Rooster Cogburn right? Looks GREAT!! I was waiting for a good John Wayne for a very ling time! This is IT!

Love the sculpt!

Next up : Clint Eastwood! :)

No way to know which of the two pictures it's from, "True Grit," for which he won his Oscar, beating out both Dustin Hoffman and Jon Voight in "Midnight Cowboy," or the sequel "Rooster Cogburn," which teamed him opposite Katharine Hepburn. The sequel was the Duke's next-to-last picture.

Okay, Sideshow, you got me. I wish a certain older friend of mine was still alive, I'd have bought a second one for him.

"Fill yer hands, ya sonsabitches!" Yeeee-hah! :joy

This is bittersweet for me. I love the Duke and this is a beautiful piece. I only wish they would have done him in his prime in any of the John Ford westerns but in particular the cavalary films or The Searchers.

OOOF! Pitchin, you got my wallet twitchin' ! How'd you get the full shot? I wuz thinkin' he hadta have the rifle. And NO NAMEPLATE, because none is needed!

Oh man, this ... is ... so ... cool.

Hey, I'm sure there'll be a "Searchers" and probably a "Shootist" figure and a "Quiet Man" figure as well. This is a great license and Sideshow's making the most of it. Two for two with the Duke.

Thanks for posting the full fig.

I jsut came from Toy Fair and I saw the PF John Wayne figure. Let me tell you it is BEAUTIFUL! Sideshow is definitely kicking ass. I'm not a big John Wayne fan, but I do love westerns, so this is a definite buy for me. I plan to offer this piece as well. Stay tuned.

Awesome!! :clap

This is going to make a great Xmas gift for my mother. She LOVES John Wayne and True Grit is her favorite film ever. She has a huge collection of the stuff from the Duke. What a great way to get my mom hooked on SS. :p
She's always liked my 1/4 pieces but now she can have her very own and it'll be the centerpiece of her collection.

From first shots that has to be the best PF yet,to my eyes anyway.
Like many here,i ll be purchasing the Duke for my Sister.Shes been a John Wayne fan for as long as i can remember and years ago i bought her an Effanbee cavalryman for her birthday who was fine for his day but ca nt hold a candle to this.Wonder what the edition size will be.
Sheer magnificence.Just one thing, make sure his feet are the right way round(look at the picture above again!):D
