Due to my saurons shoulder falling off, I was hoping I could get some really detailed close-up photos as to exactly where the should sheild sits?

Also, I noticed that with mine, when I put Saurons head on, it might rest slightly on the shoulder shield. Is this correct?

If I can have photos from all angles and sides, that would be excelent! :banana

Thanks,

Psycho Cenobite :horror

Don't think it's supposed to rest on the shoulders... will post some pics when I get home from work within an hour...

Strange ? Does your web browser have problems with displaying frames ?
I use frames on my pages and all the pages are made with frontpage 2003.

Not to sure. I'm using Apples Safari.

when I'm on your site, it's as if the images are in the background and you have to scroll up and down to see them though square cut outs. then they disapere.

Not to sure what that is! :sick

Hi PS, sorry the one hour turned out to be three... forgot all about it when I came home, ate dinner and watched a soccer match... but got some stills for you now, not very good quality... I hadn't much light to help me out photoing this black thingy...

Pic 1:
From the back, you see where the should sheild is supposed to sit...

Pic 2:
Still from the back, the helm/head does not rest on his shoulder, but there's no air between them either, hopefully you'll see and understand...

Pic 3:
From the right side, a bit dark but you might get an idea how the shield is placed..?

Pic 4:
From the front, too dark to actually show any useful, but posted it anyway...

Thanks for the photos!

I should be able to position it a bit better tonight! :banana

One thing that I'm worried about is what is under the shoulder shield. There is a lot of heavy-duty white glue. This looks like it's used to hold his arm on.

Now I'm not sure if Saurons arm was made separate and then glued on and then the shoulder shield was glued on top of that?

I think I'm getting a bit paranoid that maybe when this statue was being made, the arm broke off and instead of making a whole new Sauron, they just glued it back on and then added the shoulder shield - which then was a good fit due to the arm braking and that is why it fell off!

I wonder if any of the Sideshow crew could answer this?

Thanks,

Dimitri, your site is only viewable with explorer. I have the exact same problems as PC and I use FireFox.

Man....I wish I had a Sauron :crying

I can help you PsychoCenobite :medic

I took my Sauron apart last week, I'll post pics tonight showing the shoulder area. The shoulder spike armour should connect back very easily like a jigsaw, the arms too are made seperate and then joined to the body after.
There's not a lot of room for error when putting it back together, you should be fine.

which arm is it?

Yeah, it's the right arm. The one holding the ring.

I can't seem to make the shoulder sheild sit on it correctly! It ever pivots towards his neck or his arm. It's doesn't seem to have a nice flush fit. This makes it hard to work out if I've got it on correctly.

Thanks for the pictures... but why did you take him apart?! :horror :D

Cheers!

Here's a pic of Sauron without the armour on his right arm, if you look closely there's a raised part which the armour bit should fit on,

sau1.jpg

but I can see why you're having difficulty, its much better on the other arm as its got a much better connection. You can also see the jigsaw arm connection here.

All I can suggest is that you align the armour part the best you can on the raised bit and keep it centered around his arm (not too far back or forward).
Here's a pic of mine, but it might be off as all i've done is rested the armour back on, its not glued.........still looks ok though.

If all else fails, remove both shoulder armour and leave it at that, he looks like a much younger Sauron now

Thanks B-Electronic, i shall look at this problem.

Here's a few pics of my sauron. His helmet seems to rest on his shoulder too which didn't seem quite right at first. I can put his helmet on so the bottom front piece is below the shoulder piece but then the back of the helmet sits too high. I think its supposed to sit on the shoulder as the helmet fits best this way but if you look at sideshows pic's it seems to be "looking down" more at the ring. Maybe someone from sideshow could clear this up?

Thank you very much for all the images! This will help me attach the shoulder sheild in the correct place.

Having seen the picture of his left arms jigsaw connection, is it possiable to see this but with his right arm (the one I'm having the trouble with)?

It's just that on my Saurons right arm, there is a lot of gue used! Almost as it's it's been used to fill a gap!

I think the pic I posted of the arm connection is 'actually his right arm'! lol, I didn't notice that.

The other (left mace arm) on mine sounds like your (right arm) on yours, as I remember there being a lot of glue!, infact there was a gap because of all the glue, but they ain't noticable once the armour is on.

On my Saurons right arm, the section I'v high-lighted isn't there! It's just a solid white load of glue! :sick

This makes me think the arm isn't in the correct position and that is why the shoulder shield isn't sitting on it's possition as well as it should... maybe this is why it fell off.

Seems a bit strange to me! :sick
