ok, but why do you think another sequel could be better?
seriously... sit down and have a hard think about that.
if you think hollywood can't **** on these franchises any more than they already have, you're in for a big surprise.

the only reason the AvP movies exist is because it's a quick, cheap way to save the lousy producers/directors from actually having to come up with original ideas and designs.
the AvP series is NOT made for Alien and Predator fans. the fan base just isn't big enough to maintain any incentive to make quality movies.
they're made for middle/high school kids who want spend big $$ to see monsters and explosions. watch the 1st Alien and Predator movies and then watch AvP.
the sense of narrative and atmosphere you see in Alien and Predator just isn't there. there's no reverence for the craft of film making in AvP.

i expect this series to start going straight-to-dvd just like all those lousy Disney and Hellraiser sequels.
no more ******* sequels.

i still think AVP was a good film and brought us some cool preds, only if you take a close look at it does it start to show flaws. AVP:r sucked. as for a 3rd, id love to see one.

Also....here are reasons why AvP is a better film then AvP-R.

First...originalty. Yes the film is about as creative as a tac, but....it does try to be different. While most people dont really count the AvP films as canon, you can still watch AvP, and see it as either A: A stand alone film, that doesnt tie into the rest (like Anderson said....) or B: Canon, because no Aliens are seen, or released anywhere except seen by Lex. No one will belive her.

Second, homages. AvP's homages were brilliant. The Ducking Duck at the beginning, the opening title homage to Alien, Bishop's pen thing....great stuff. (some not so great, but they're all better then what AvP-R had)

AvP-R's "homages". Yeah, every scene included some lame ass homage that really didnt matter at all...the skinned body, the Wolf arrival, the horrid Aliens esq hive...ect. Lame lame lame. ZERO creativty.


The look. AvP had a style. A flair. Something that made it stand out, if you're looking at it from a visual standpoint, AvP fits right in with the other Alien films.

AvP-R is a mess. A boring, uninspired mess. I've seen the BS's videos. Creative, stylish, cool....why did they have a need to just copy the look of Aliens? Aliens was done...do something new.

The attitude. The BS's attitude towards Alien fans was unexceptible. Listen to the commentary.

The Bias. AvP-R was so one sided it wasnt even funny. Wolf is a badass, if you count someone punching mentaly challanged kids in the face, and claiming victory. Seriously, they didnt make the Wolf better....they made the Aliens dumber.

And finally, THE ^^^^ING CHARACTERS! AvP's characters, while underdeveloped, and poorly acting, are still better, and a heck of a lot more intresting then R's. You atleast gave a crap about them...even a little bit. Miller was fun to watch, Sebby was....alright....Lex....I kinda dug her.

But AvP-R's....who in the film was at all interesting? Ricky the pizza boy, with a crush on the high school whore? How about Kelly, the war vet who has daughter issues...or Eddie the shariff, who no one trusts? Surely Mr. DALLAS (sttttuppppidddddd) who was an ex con for god knows what, likes to take lines from Arnold, and has knowlage of how to use a Alien weapon must be our most interesting character!....no.

Sure. I did like AvP-R when I first saw it...but now that I look back, I remember forgetting the entire film within an hour. I had to watch it again, and I still didnt remember it....the only reason why I remeber and hate the film now was when I tried to re-edit it. That didnt work. It still sucked. Mabye it looked better, or it had better sound...but it still sucked.

I love to rant...I feel better every time I do it.

it looked like every other Anderson movie. which all look like his Mortal Kombat movie. which looks cheap.
he was hired for the project because he can make cheap action movies that will make money even if they tank in box offices.
