Picked up Spider-Man 2.1 DVD today

I couldn't hold out for the eventual Blu Ray release...

Street date is next Tuesday but they were out at a local Walmart for $12.88 so I went ahead and bought one. It comes with a Walmart exclusive disk on the Villians of Spider-Man 3 (13 minutes).

Haven't watched either yet but will this weekend, maybe not the Villians disk though.

I picked this up at Wal-Mart Yesterday...I thought it was supposed to come out next week. Anyone one else get it? Did they move the date up or did Wal-Mart screw up?

It's so worth $12.88. Extended fight scenes that they went back and finished up for this release, more dialog between the main characters and a J.J.J. scene that is priceless!!! It flows smoothly and doesn't seem to long.

I never saw the TBS one so I couldn't tell you. Sam Rami wasn't in much of the extras and isn't on the commentary track. I think this is more of a 'producers' cut. But it is worth it. I've seen SM 2 5-6 times and was really pleased with 2.1. Main reason...? The extended fight scenes ROCK!!!!!

I don't remember that in the TBS Director's cut version, this version must be completely new.

It was on FX not TBS. The only thing I noticed on the FX one was a new recap of Spidey 1 (which is not on the 2.1 DVD) and some of the extended dialog and none of the extended fight scenes.

I saw this in Wallmart the other day, they only had one left but I decided to not buy it. Huge mistake, I saw the TV advert for this the other day and it's definitely not the one shown on FX (thanks Natrix). They really went all out to update the movie, it's close to the level of a LOTR extended edition.

Buttmunch was asking about Spidey 1 not 2 and no there was never an extended/director cut for Spidey 1.
