I've seen videos on youtube and the people go pretty good.
They have different blade types for just that sort of thing.
There's even a video of some guy bashing his Force FX saber with his Ultra Saber.

I have an Anakin ROTS that was modded by Ultra Sabers. Very bright white Luxeon III LED. It came with a few colored gels to give the saber blade color but I dig the white look, it reminds me of the unaltered Star Wars Luke saber.
