Re: World War Hulk on its way!

Even with less detail, this will easily be a more desirable statue than Skaar (as long as ES doesn't **** it). A list character from his best run in a long time > C list son.

Not necessarily... If they screw up the sculpt people will avoid it... You just need to look at the Vision EX and the still available GL PF to see how that happens. Bad sculpt=****ty sales.

Apples to oranges: neither of those are a listers, but yes, if they **** up the sculpt, sales will be hurt. If Gore Group is doing this though, their hulk track record should speak loudly enough to end the debate.

I don't KNOW for sure if the Gore Group is doing this.

Hal Jordan is an A list character.

I'd give him a rock solid B. DC has their big 3 and GL has never really cracked or added to it. In comics, he's a star, but I think if you look beyond that, which you have to if you're talking A list, he's had a hard time transcending the medium from which he came (example: his movie). Batman, Hulk, Superman ect have had tv shows and movies over the years and are the kinds of characters that have proven appeal to the masses. I'm not ruling out that GL can't become A list in the future, like Iron Man seems to have, but right now I'd have pretty poor results asking the average simpleton Green Lantern's identity and powers.

It's his powers and the subject matter. You have to do GL in space. The movie failed at that. His powers are based on imagination to create things and writers across all mediums usually fail to be creative in how to use his powers (part of why Kyle Ryner came to be). Also, GL is not unique. He is part of a police force that has the same powers as him.

Re: World War Hulk on its way!

which was the last marvel grail?

i don't know for sure what the GRAIL status requires, but while Skaar is a great statue, he still hasn't been selling for even double his original value on a regular basis. imo the last marvel grail would have to be the Spidey com as he's regularly hit the $1k mark and that would be a grail for sure.:lecture

:goodpost: Spidey com for sure.

Re: World War Hulk on its way!

the word "grail" is often used too fast and Skaar is a good example of that

I have always found the word "grail" when used here to be completely driven by how much it has appreciated in value not NECESSARILY by how much people LOVE having it in their collection. Personally I think I will have pieces in my collection that may go up in value, but even if they don't they will still be Grails to me because I intend to love HAVING everyone of them. I will also so that there is me thing I have noticed about Skaar over say the Joker. Not a lot of people are ACTUALLY selling him. Yeah sure there are a few, but there are always at least double the number of Jokers on Evilbay compared to the number of Skaars. I am afraid this will be a tough piece to get your hands on in the future which is why I am kind of hoping to do it sooner rather then later. So here is to hoping.
