Hey guys I'm trying to decide if I want this gladiator hulk, hulk maquette or batman pf, what do you think? My WIFE is getting me one for my bday. I have to pick one. All my collection is marvel pfs and comiquettes. Mainly x-men and spiderman. Recent purchases were Punisher pf and black widow pf. I have every marvel pf on po right now including cap, apocalypse, red skull, Jean grey, daredevil, and Thor.

You don't want the Hulk PF?

Out of those three, I'd get her to buy the most expensive one. So when you snuck off and bought the others you could say, "they're cheaper than the one you got me though!"

50% of the time, it works everytime.

Bwhaha. Good advice!

I'll give you an answer after in hand pictures of G.
Anything like the proto and it will win.

Have there been any cases where the production pieces were way worse paint wise compared to the proto/sideshow paint?

(I ask because I'm new and haven't seen any in the year I've been here)

this is easy, you get gladiator hulk…hulk maquette is an open edition, and its the priciest one. IMO open editions, no matter how cool they might look, are a no-no, because they aren't "collectibles", anyone and everyone can buy them @ any time. (again thats just my opinion)…the batman pf has a LOT of issues..the armpit sag, the dark faces, the light paint on the base, the wobble, etc. Im speaking from experience as I am a HUGE bats fan, I own the PF, but I had 2 spend a lot of money to get it customized and get it to look the way I wanted it to. Gladiator Hulk looks AMAZING…I've NEVER been a hulk fan, could care less about hulk, and I can all-but guarantee that if in-hand pics look like the proto, il be picking it up. Its got a great presence, it looks more badass than the maquette, imo, and has an ES, and I personally don't see it getting messed up like batman when it arrives.

Do you have pics of your customized Bats?? Would love to see them.

I say 1st you go with what you love... But there is truth about the Maquette Hulk.... He will always be around...

So I would personally go with Gladiator Hulk. If you love the character and the story. If you feel the need to have one hulk represent you collection.... that is a bit harder. Even though the Maquette will be around forever... I love that it can fit you comic or Movie Hulk needs and he is more classic looking them Gladiator Hulk and he is very large and will have more shelf presence the new Green because of the size.. but I love the paint apps on the new green better then the Maquette....

I know that I have not been much help here LOL... I know that I would pick any of them over bats because there will be other Batman Pfs down the road and I am sure they will make improvements over this one. It's nice but far from perfect IMO.

Which brings us back to Hulk.... If I could only choose one.... Hmmmm... If Hulk Maquette was numbered and had an ES I would say go with that.... But its not... So I say if you are going to only have one Hulk you have to go with the new Green. Even though I like Gladiator Hulk better the New green is more iconic and classic style. The paint is great and if you like both Heads then you have two great portraits to use. So if I could only have one hulk that is it.....

Well actually I would still pick the Hulk Maquette if I could only ever have just one... But edition size does not matter that much to me... But he will still be available down the road. So Go with Green.

Hope that helps :)

I find your advice the most helpful. I agree with the open edition thing. Plus I don't collect movie pieces. My only problem is I have the hulk pfex on po and I thought it would be weird to have two hulks

you can call or live chat with SS and as a one time courtesy, they'll cancel your order and they let you move your NRD to another piece…so just do that and then Ghulk is even cheaper for the gf/wife to pay for…or then u gotta decide which hulk you prefer…although, for me, coming from a non die-hard hulk fan, Ghulk is the one over the comic versions, although Im more than aware that true hulk fans will swear by them…but yea out of the maquette and bats and Ghulk, GHulk it is imo…just glad I can help! :hi5: its a badas$ piece for sure!

Legendary Scale Bust, 1:2 busts.
Paint on the P2 sucks and the IM BD is pathetic.

Oh I looked at the wrong one. The mark VI bust right? Just watched a hd video. Paint makes it look like plastic and not metal at all. Is that what you were saying?

And the p2, yikes... Looks like he's been swimming in Vaseline. Haha

Any cases where paint apps on 1/4 scales were torched?
