If they are afraid of the licensors I'm not sure producing a lackluster portrait is going to make much of an excuse for them. Licensors are going to care about the character more than the actor/actress likeness. When the clothing and accessories all match thier character, the "damage" has already been done. At that point offering a likeness that is off isn't going to fool licensors anymore than the bogus names they come up with.

It's embarrassing that the coat on this figure looks better-tailored than the one Hot Toys made for The Crow.
