I'd wake up see it on. And when I returned from work it would be on. I had 2nd time in went into safemode so I said screw it and sent it into service. Could also be weak connection with hard drive or faulty hard drive. I've also read could be the power or eject button issue since it's touch sensitive. But your disc isn't ejecting so I cross that out. My service time was quick so I suggest sending it now before the hoilday season.

Sounds like we had the same issue, only different being mine did not go into safe mode and I also have issues with the controller not working properly. They said they will send a box for the console and that I would have to send the controller myself to another location on my own dime and that I will get emails on instructions in 24 hours on how to proceed. I will send it asap as your right the holiday season is coming up fast.
