PlayStation 4 sales reached the 1 million mark within the console's first 24 hours at retail, Sony announced this morning. The PS4 launched in North America on November 15, so that figure is restricted to the US & Canada; the console comes to Europe on November 29, and Japan on February 22, 2014.

SCEA President and CEO Jack Tretton is predicting 3 million sales by the end of the year, and with the European launch to come, that's looking increasingly realistic. Sony targets that figure to rise to 5 million by the close of the company's fiscal year in March 2014, by which point the console will have reached Japan.

According to data gatherer NPD, Sony only sold 197,000 PS3 units to the US in its first two weeks of availability, with shortages of supply to blame. Around this time last year, the Wii U sold 425,000 units in the US within its first week at retail, with Nintendo going on to ship 3 million units worldwide by the end of 2012.

i will pick up a PS4 here tomorrow, and i heard there are some problems, like the blinking blue light etc, hdmi cable problems, etc.
i really hope i am not that unlucky to get one bricked ps4, any of you experienced any of this?

I wouldnt worry about it too much. I doubt theres any higher risk with a ps4 than there is with any other console. Media always like to focus on the negative.

This is what really matters:

The PS4 has been out for a day or so now and people seem to be having a good time with the handful of launch titles. What about next week, when they've beaten all their ... PS4 games? What will they get a handful of then?

If you are one of these at-risk PS4 owners, and you're one of the few people in the world who enjoy videogames and pornography, then Pornhub has you covered. According to this probably NSFW tweet (the object in her mouth is hard to make out), Pornhub is the first porn site to fully support the PS4. This is the kind of 3rd party console support that matters in 2013.

As you (and Tim Curry) already know, the Wii U is also fully compatible with Pornhub and its related sites like Youporn and PornMD. What about Microsoft? Will they do what it takes to grasp onto the streaming porn audience, or will they let Xbox One lose that bone to the other dogs? Stay tuned to Destructoid for the latest on this evolving story.

Has anyone tried Warframe yet? Looks like the co-op modefrom Mass Effect. Could be fun. Free to play is hit and miss, but it could be worth a shot.
