Uncanny Web-Slinger
Super Freak
So, i really like my PS4 but can't help feeling disappointed.
The difference between the PS2 & PS3 was huge but the difference between PS3 & PS4 is very low.
The graphical jump from PS2 to PS3 was like 90%. It was a huge difference, HD life-like graphics replaced the boxy look of the PS2
The PS3 added a replaceable HDD, the ability to store music and movies, online gaming (PS2 had this but it was additional and fairly rubbish) customizable themes and UI, Internet browser and High Definition Blu-Ray playback.
Thats alot of updates.
But the PS4 has minimal updates and even removes features.
The graphical jump is around 25%. The customizable interface is gone, the music and movie storage is gone, the playstation network remains largely the same, there's no new home entertainment format support like 3D Blu Ray and the internet browser is largely the same.
The new features is basically just being able to capture in-game playback and screenshots and the new controller redesign, it remains to be seen if the touchpad and/or light bar will even be utilised by developers or end up like Six-Axis.
The rest is simply refinements to features present but a pain to use on PS3 like being able to download updates without having to leave the system running or stop playing a game and social media capatibility
Perhaps i'm expecting too much out of the box but it's kindof a let down especially for the price. Hopefully now that the PS4 has become sich a hit new features that make it feel like a new generation machine will start rolling out
