So i turned on my ps3 to play tomb raider and it came up with a message that a bunch of patches had been downloaded while the system was off.

With the PS4 it only does this in standby mode. The PS3 does the same but there is only off and completely unplugged whereas with the PS4 there is standby, off then completely unplugged.

Why make it less simple? They should've just had the downloads operate when off like on the PS3 rather than only when in standby

The PS3 doesn't do it when off, it actually turns on at a regular time and checks for updates and then downloads them and turns off. Both the PS4 and the Xbox One have low-power modes that allow them to do simple things like downloading without powering up the entire thing.

I got the ps4 gold headset today for only 6 dollars traded in 3 games and got like 80 plus store credit headset is really nice.

Well I went into Walmart Saturday not expecting an Ps4 to be in-stock cause earlier that morning I checked online and said none in-stock... Went over to electronics and what ya know, they had one in stock, so i picked one up along with Injustice...

Driveclub postponed again.

According to a new exchange between IGN and Scott Rohde, development head for Sony Worldwide Studios America, the detail-oriented racing game has shifted "back to the drawing board" in pursuit of quality. Driveclub isn't ready to be shipped – not without doing customers a "disservice," Rohde said. He did not confirm a new release date, in 2014 or otherwise.

Got my PS4 back last week from being repaired. I think they gave me a new one. Or they wiped my HD. Anyways it works great now. No issues.

Anyone play NBA2k14 and use the iphone/android app?

I'm having issues upgrading my player using VC earned on the app - it doesn't allow me to. Is this supposed to be this way or is there an issue I'm having????

Sony made the first official unveil of their PS4 VR HMD today at the GDC. They'll have it demoed tomorrow at the show, so first hand impressions should be flying all over the place by the end of the day. The specs look a little concerning, but until I hear all the feedback, I'll just hope for the best.

5" LCD screen. 1080p. Uses the Eye for positional tracking and will incorporate the Move for hand controls. The LCD is what I'm worried about. I was hoping for OLED for the low persistence technology that greatly reduces blurring and minimalizes simulation sickness. LCD is likely to have a good bit of motion blur, but maybe they've got another way around that. We'll know alot more after tomorrow.

Yeah, it's a really good thing for VR that Sony is diving in as long as they've got a good product. This shouldn't hurt Oculus in any way as Sony seems to be focusing exclusively on the PS4. You all know what that means. If you want your VR ****, you'll have to go with oculus.

It's highly likely you could get the PS4 VR headset to work on PC, I doubt Sony will make drivers themselves, but since it's using the same concept as the Rift it shouldn't be difficult for some modders to make a driver for it.

My main hope is that they can get good performance and make it wireless, having the cord is a big issue.
I'm also surprised they've been in development since before the Rift made VR popular. I'm betting we'll get more final information at E3 and then possibly have a release at the end of the year, and perhaps they will be changing Driveclub to support it in which case they may have that release then.

Wireless would be nice. I think we'll see that in a generation or two, but the first will probably be wired for both the Rift and Sony's deal. According to Oculus it's mostly a weight issue. Having a battery in the head set adds weight and they're trying to get the weight down as low as possible.

E3 will definitely big the biggest reveal for both companies. Oculus should have official specs and release info on the Rift as well as revealing any software partnerships that they've been teasing at but haven't announced yet and I do think Sony will be releasing theirs this year, so E3 will have all the details on what to expect for their launch. in the meantime, I'm looking forward to just seeing the feedback from GDC about the prototype Sony's showing off today.

Oculus has just put the new dev kit 2 up for pre-order today. Ships in July. Sooner than I expected.

I think they'll probably wait until they are sure there's going to be enough content out there. Luckily it's not that difficult to add support for older games, but they're trying to get some games that are actually made for it. Also what's good is that since the PS4 headset uses the same method for VR, any games made for the Oculus can be made for the PS4, or the other way around.

True. In fact, a game that's being published by Oculus called Eve Valkyrie is apparently going to be on the PS4 VR. Oculus has been tight lipped about games, but they suggest that there's some cool stuff in development that they can't talk about yet. E3 maybe.
