The XBOX One is made by the same team who did the Slim 360.

I trust the small size of the PS4 is a good thing, means we might have an external PSU and with the vents it'll mostly stay cool. :)

No external power supply. That's definitely a standard AC appliance connector on the back.

:horror ... didn't know that, hopefully the components don't generate much heat then, lol.

nex to the processor the power supply is the hottest. it would have been better to make it external but the way it looks vented i dont think thatll matter.

Vents alone won't be sufficient for the kind of horsepower these consoles are packing. The PS4 (and X1 for that matter) might actually be loud due to large fans/fast spinning fan blades.

It annoys me after a while, but that's when I turn up the volume on my speakers. :D

Hehe, he was nervous about even touching it. I guess until they get more, that unit is going to be handled pretty carefully.

The PS4 controller is looking pretty sexy so far. Need to get my hands on it to know for sure, but I'm liking what I see. Did I hear him say that it has a speaker?

The box is whatever. That was never important to me, but I like that its small of course.

well hopefully they learned from the first PS3 and we won't have to worry about overheating. But we know better don't we.

Technology has come a long way since the PS3. I would assume, just like the continued upgrades on PC cpu's and gpu's, which now generate less heat and consume less power, due to shrinking down the die's and what not, that it will be the same for PS4. Meaning more powerful, runs faster, yet runs cooler, quieter and less hot then you think.

so what it means? no more yellow light of death?

Awesome!
That was one of my concerns with the small frame of the PS4.
Less space for cooling, could overheat the components, but kudos to Sony for solving that issue.

I actually just replaced my PS3 last week because of the overheating issue. The fan was ridiculously loud. I'm glad to hear as well that they've addressed this on the PS4.
