It makes sense that they would be working together since the PopToys last samurai figures have CooModel bodies as do some of the other PopToys male figures. I just hope PopToys goes deep into the line with other main characters.
Yup its definitely meant to be Lagertha, no question. It doesn't just have a passing resemblence, it's pretty much her. The likeness might not be 100% but the hair style, clothing, and weaponry is all hers from the show.
As for the CooModel figures: I've only seen one that barely, sort of, maybe looks like it could be Ragnar if I squint, but looks more like King Harald with only half the tattooed face instead of both sides like in the show. Unless there's another one that I've missed.
Either way, just b/c one company makes Viking figures (like CooModel for instance), doesn't mean that it's exclusive to them and no one else can take a stab.
No one is saying that the CooModel figures you're referencing are meant to be based on the Vikings TV show, but it sounds like that's what you were thinking maybe? Those figures have a very vague, passing resemblance (maybe to boost sales), but aren't obvious like this PopToys figure is.Here the one I was talking about could be Ragnar, or Bjorn. The other is the Harald one you were talking about. The third figure in the line just reuses the Harald head.
If this was meant to be a Vikings line then why reuse Harald twice? Why not have Rollo be the Beserker figure instead of Harald? And to repeat my question from earlier why didn’t people notice the similarities earlier on the figures being released now?
Just saying yeah there maybe similarities, but I still don’t think this is meant to be a Vikings (show) line. Just a Vikings line similar to the different Knights they put out. But that’s just my view.
I already have the Lord and Beserker ordered. I’ll order this one too when it pops up for preorder.
Are you confusing the two brands just b/c PopToys uses CooModel bodies for their male figures and tend to make similar products? PopToys does make male figures like the entire Last Samurai line and the Ridley Scott Robin Hood figures. Even though they used CooModel bodies, they are still PopToys products. PopToys tends to make figures of characters from Historical movies and TV shows. From what I've seen, CooModel tends to make more generic historical figures that may, at times, be more historically accurate, but usually aren't specifically from tv or movies.
Ok.The plate armour is a lot better in fit. You can see how the pauldrons stick out on the original and refuse to lay flat. The sabots (foot armour) are now fully jointed over a fabric shoe, as opposed to the incorrect solid metal boots on the first one.
The sword is probably the same.
There are a lot of in hand photos in this thread:

This figure does look very nice.
I haven't seen the entire show, though, just a couple of episodes here and there but I hope to watch it in its entirety some day.
It's a great show. Highly recommended.
I rewatched Vikings last year. It still is a great show and I'm planning to watch it again in a couple of years.I knew I wouldn't be able to resist, so ordered from Kit this morning.
I'll nestle her in among my ancients as a Germanic barbarian. She looks too good not to fudge a bit of history.
The mail bracers are removable, so hopefully her tunic has full length sleeves underneath. I may swap her shield with one of the Celts to further break her Viking connection, though round shields were associated with both barbarian and Roman cavalry.
Forgot I already had the first three and half seasons of Vikings so have been watching them (and have the remainder lined up ready as well).
In the final episode of Season 2 Lagertha wears what's to become the start of Pop Toys' costume:

Prior to this she was wearing different leather and mail torso armour, plus the skirt:
