I'm hoping he will look better in different lighting, because that up-close face shot is not great at all.

Personally, I think the proportions are all wrong on this piece. Horns are too large, and his torso is too thin and overly muscled.

As for the lips. Well, they shouldn't be stark black as this statue shows, but they should be a lot darker than his skin. You can see it even in this darkly lit picture.

I also think the AP piece in those pictures has a bit of the googley eye going on.

The harsh lighting isn't helping... but still not really feeling this piece. I'll just stick with the PF; which isn't perfect but I think it looks better and I prefer the pose.

I agree about the googly-eye. Seems like they would have caught that being that it was one of the first pieces sent out.

I think if you reduced the sharpness of the eyeliner and lips he'd look much better; they made those way too defined and that adds to the cartoony look. Should be a killer looking piece once a few fixes are applied.

Glad I cancelled my AP a couple years back. Setting the googly eyes aside (which are inexcusable on their own), there seems to be less shading on the head than on the prototype. More of a flat red with [maybe] some slight variation. Meh. Application is clean enough, but detail is severely lacking for this price point.

There is no googly eyes and there is shading,here is the same statue with different angle and lighting that the owner took.
