The Academy Award nominees were announced this morning, so it seems only fitting that the nominees for the 2015 Poppies get their due on the same day! The ballot is now live for the industry judges who will select the winners of the 2015 Poppies, but you know what that means...the People's Picks voting is also open! This is your chance to use the same ballot of nominees as the Poppies judges and cast your vote for your favorite collectibles of 2015. Head over here to cast your vote:

I just voted earlier today. Neca had a pretty good year, imo. They should win best company :D

I voted with extreme bias in their favour. With exception of Hot Toys BD Robocop which I voted as best 1:6 male figure, they did nothing else I was interested in whereas NECA did and continue to do quite a lot.

Voted for them as best company, best overall line (Aliens), best vehicle (Powerloader), best 7'' female (Ripley - although I do think the likeness is a bit off) and also voted for Penguin as best 1:4 (though I don't own it)

I abstained from quite a lot of categories due to lack of interest.

The only reason to place a vote for anything else in that category is because you don't own the BD Robocop figure, in which case you should go out and buy one STAT.

Voted!! to bad the Gentle Giant Jumbo G.I. Joe line wasn't included but I may be alone on that one. BD Robo and Mezco 1:12 Batman got my votes.

Not sure how it all works with companies nominating their own favorites, but it's a bummer that Hot Toys Chewbacca didn't make the cut. He's a real innovation.

I don't get the love that figures. It's fine looking, but the lack of paint on the joints and the hole on the back really ruins it. I like the pizza and the extra sculpt, but those two issues really hurts the figure, imo.

The hole on the back isn't noticeable on the shelf. I'm not really sure what you mean by lack of paint on joints, do you mean the joint pegs? The joints are painted and matched to the area of the color of the suit. The pegs are the ones that are off in a few spots. Red pegs when they should have been blue etc.... I think that is the biggest issue of the figure, but I think it gets overlooked because of the great articulation, posing possibilities and the overall sturdiness of the joints.

Hmmm, if she had been an option and if I had voted today I would have given my best female 5''-11'' vote to NECA's Sarah Connor. Not out of Terminator bias but because I do think it is a genuinely superior likeness over Ripley.

I agree, but that doesn't start shipping until a few weeks, right? She should be nominated for the next poppies.
