Pilot Luke seems a bit pointless since we won't get vehicles. He didn't really do anything memorable in the orange jumpsuit when he wasn't in the X-wing.

I do remember some planet sized space station getting blown to bits whilst he was in it though.

But once again, without the X-wing that was used to blow it up, a X-wing Luke is a varaint very low on the list of the many Luke variants. ANH, Hoth, Bespin, Dagobah, and Endor are all much better choices than X-wing.

I would hope that any variant comes with a new head sculpt, but I would hate this to become Hasbro's line, with so many variants. I think the main characters as represented by their key costumes would be perfect, and hopefully the line will be around for a while before we have to order any variant (con excluded).

as long as sideshow only makes one version of each costume, that will be cool. the problem hasbro had was releasing multiple versions of the same character in the same costume.......4 tatooine lukes, 4 jedi lukes, 3 ANH han solos, 4 qui gon jinns, 4 ANH obi-wans, etc....

just make one definate version of each character in each costume.

......sadly, sideshow has aleady set themselves up for a future double dip by making endor luke skywalker and the probable sith eyes anakin.

both of these figures should of included alternate heads and the poncho for luke.:sick

I certainly wouldn't mind the a few of the main characters but probably not more than 3 of the same person.

Captain Sack, that is exactly why I burned out on 3 3/4 inch collecting. I still have a complete collection through AOTC, but too many rehashes of the same darn figure. Not just luke, but Tatooine Luke, etc...

Same for me. It got too costly to keep up and "collect 'em all". The 3 3/4" days were fun when there was a finite number of figures to collect. After 1995, when Hasbro began the whole new line, it just grew and grew, with multiple characters and multiple variations of the blister card...and there was no end in sight.

Anyone know what the total number of 3 3/4" figures there are (including variations of the figure and on the card)?

I wouldn't even want to begin to think how many figures have been produced, because then I might have a ballpark on what I spent.:horror :monkey2

And don't forget to count all those 3-pack sets (purchase of the droids, etc)...and the vehicle sets that always came with a unique figure (like the scanning crew guy)...

IT NEVER ENDS!

Even as my excitment with Star Wars was gorwing to a fever pitch, i suddenly grew tired of the little Hasbro line. I toyed with getting all of the Jedi for AOTC, but I really stopped after the Episode I series three came out. Haven't bought one since. Cold Turkey.

Oh well.......

BACK TO MY SIDESHOW LUKE!!!

Oh, and I'm pretty sure we would see all-new or at least re-tooled sculpts for Anakin and Luke, and everyone.
