Yup, gotta go see the DaVinci Code as well. Never read the book but the theory behind it is interesting.

I recommend not getting caught up in any "theories" and just enjoying it for the adventure and mystery... it's a great story! :duff

Did someone say....mystery?

I read somewhere that the Zizzle 12" figures were...well, to be polite, not so good. Anyone here confirm?

Also, does anyone know if Medicom is planning more 12" figures from POTC to go with their new Jack Sparrow?

From the trailer, Davy Jones looks awesome. I'd really like an accurate 12" figure of this character.

Yeah, I'm not. It's an interesting theory but one I find hard to believe for my own personal reasons. I will be going just to enjoy a good summer flick and a couple of hours of relaxation.

No, but I hope it isn't true. I don't think I'll shell out the cash for the Medicom figure since I have the 18 inch version from NECA...and also because I'll never get a Pirates a line (with other characters besides Jack).

The pics of them posted here looked pretty good for mass production toys. The Sparrow headsculpt is better than Medicom's ( big surpirse  ) Davy looked great, but could use some customikey paintwork. Will was actually one of the better likenesses of Bloom. I guess those are the prototypes though, so the final product could be different.

I actually read that the 12" figures were not so good on Michael's review of the Zizzle 3 3/4" POTC 2 figs. There's a quick mention of the 12" -- don't bother was the quote I believe.

I hope its just a subjective opinion.

From the pictures, and knowing the cost, I would say they're worthy of a purchase.

Unless the final versions have changed, that is. Are these supposed to be out in stores now?

I tried looking on ebay, and they aren't there. That means they aren't out yet  I think a body swap to a Sideshow body could make Sparrow really good. Dave is just stuck on that body though.

You'd have to find boots elsewhere as the boots on Zizzle are plastic and carry the ankle joint.

Michael's review of 3 3/4" figs: These are hitting Targets right now for around $7 each, and there are also playsets, larger figures (which are awful - don't even bother), dress up accessories, and other booty to be had.

Correct, but I still think it could be better than a Medicom one. The one thing Medicom can do decently is the costumes. Their sculpts are just aweful. Hasbro does better. I think making or finding some boots to use should be too hard to do. Hmmmm....

I think - and I could be wrong - there is another scale of Pirates figures (under 12 inch, but bigger than the basic figs)....at least, I want to say there is. I believe there were pictures taken of them at Toyfare.

Perhaps he meant those?

In an ideal world, I'd love to use the Medicom Sparrow outfit on the Zizzle "body". Face sculpt aside, the Medicom Sparrow looks fantastic.

Agreed, but I'd also have to add the hands. I've always liked Sideshow's hands and think most other companies are too cheap looking. If only Sideshow would get the license!

Yep, too true. Their hands are the best.

Maybe the best Sparrow then is SS body, Frontline head and Medicom clothing. That's one expensive custom.
