Re: Predator 2 City Hunter 1:4 Maquette

Stu Pidasso?

No - Mr. Pidasso (often confused with that guy who paints ugly women) is a Model Caster & Kit producer who lives in Ohio and is a member of the Clubhouse.

It was originally HIM who showed me how to use a simple spreadsheet to keep track of names, dates and product ordered.

It's a tough concept to grasp, especially if you can't use MS software like Excel per Sideshow :)

It was a joke - just say 'StuPidasso' in one word...:acme

I could always start talking about the Dreadlocks to keep this thread alive until such time... :lol

Re: Predator 2 City Hunter 1:4 Maquette

I don't actually mind the base but it is a strange one.

I mean of all the possible thousands of PF's that could have been thought up, Predator 2 would have to have the easiest base.

"So we are making a Predator 2 PF"

" Nice! That movie where he's standing on the edge of the building with the spear. I never saw it, but it's on pretty much everything I ever saw about the movie, the DvD cover, the art, the web"

"uhh........yeah...we were thinking maybe more like....a part of his spaceship....... or something...maybe a rock.....anything where we can get our classic one knee up pose"

:lol

Re: Predator 2 City Hunter 1:4 Maquette

I wouldn't mind the base if it were just the rock, it would be boring of course but it wouldn't detract from the actual creature. The random teeth and the tacky afterthought skulls ruin it for me though. No bother any more though as SS are most likely not going to alter anything now so I'm out. I'll save my money for future releases that make me happy.. :lol

Re: Predator 2 City Hunter 1:4 Maquette

I personally dont think the base is too bad.. I need to get a p1 maquette to go with the p2.. Might have to break down and sell my hot toys predators.. I think I'm gonna switch to just statues, props, and garage kits.

Re: Predator 2 City Hunter 1:4 Maquette

Looks like no ES 'till 2014 which is pretty lame

Wish I waited now :slap

Who am I kidding? This was getting ordered regardless.

Re: Predator 2 City Hunter 1:4 Maquette

The problem here with the ES is a few things.

1) It's over a thousand bucks. That rules out anyone from Australia buying it due to taxes. (anything over a thousand is tax land) So we will wait.

2) Again because of the high price anyone from Europe is most likely eye balling this from a local seller to avoid stupid taxes and shipping costs and also because.....

3) The EX isn't that great and not really worth it unless you are from the US.

So they have a problem in that it's too expensive to take the gamble for the foreign market and the EX isn't good enough to warrant the extra cash.

Ironically this could be good for the statue. We might see a really low ES of under a thousand total (for both editions).

Re: Predator 2 City Hunter 1:4 Maquette

I'm British, 20% V.A.T, and the Ex was a must for me. And a few other Brits on here.
If you're spending this much it's worth that bit extra for the disc in hand option. You're also getting it a couple of months sooner and 5% back in points.

Re: Predator 2 City Hunter 1:4 Maquette

If it were a head sculpt for sure, but the disk and breather are kind of lame. I'd display it with the spear anyway.

It would cost me an extra $200 at least. No way is it worth that for me.

Re: Predator 2 City Hunter 1:4 Maquette

I agree, the EX is pretty rubbish, it should be the head swap to make it really exclusive. I think what does make the EX purchase worth it is the ES, they command higher prices, or have done. Now days SS are pumping out huge numbers for their "exclusives" and not even bothering to tell people what that number will be until they have forced enough people into pre ordering. Times are changing.

Personally, I'd like to see SS ditch exclusives all together and just include all of the trinkets for everybody.
