Re: Predator 2 City Hunter 1:4 Maquette

Agree 100% - but then I'd much rather SideShow's "design" team had done their job with the sculpt.

I think the EX will hold its value - but the regular - no way. Unless this looks way better in-hand than i suspect this will, they will be dropping the price of the regular in a years time to clear the ones they don't sell.

.

True, I would always trade features for great sculpt/paint if I had to.

Nowadays, I almost always wait a year or years down the road to buy collectibles cheaper. I have saved thousands of dollars doing this. The Exclusives are just not what they used to be, and aren't worth the extra cash it would cost me with CA sales tax. I got the new Conan Black Gorilla dio and have Sonja Ex on waitlist cause those are must have types of exclusives to me. Most exclusives are very meh. Instead of re-releasing characters like SS is doing with the Marvel/DC stuff so often, just make those different color options the exclusive.

I guess this is getting closer, first flex payment ever is a week on Monday and it's for this guy.

Re: Predator 2 City Hunter 1:4 Maquette

Or you could look for the old HCG stunt bio, it may not be the hero but it is accurate as it's molded from the real thing, I love mine.

Re: Predator 2 City Hunter 1:4 Maquette

I just had a thought while looking at my Wolf statue. If the dreads are that same plastic used on wolf we may be able to mod the dreads ourselves. On the Wolf LSF the dreads are pushed into preset holes and glued in, if we can take them out and cut/bend the ends we may be able to get this HS looking a lot better.

Does anyone that's seen it at the show remember if they were sculpted or plastic? Having a look at the SS website I think they do look the same as Wolfs.

Re: Predator 2 City Hunter 1:4 Maquette

So remove the dreads, rework them then glue them back in? On a $1,200 statue...
You're braver than me.

How will people who attended CC know what the dreads are made from?

That is an interesting idea and may work, but that is a lot of effort and chance for problems when there is still a bunch of other issues which we can't do anything about.

Re: Predator 2 City Hunter 1:4 Maquette

if you removed and cut that much of the dreads, then they would still look weird cause they would end up looking really short. I will prolly just end up waiting for the 1:3 P2 from Narin. I really wish someone would do a 1/4 Elder. I bet we will see the Elder LSB at sdcc though.......

You could probably tell just by looking if you were close enough. It sounds like a big job but the dreads on Wolf are just pliable plastic, it would be hard to mess it up even if you tried. You could leave the ones at the back, just the ones sticking out the side of his head.

Just a thought anyway.

That's sounds like a good plan SS... and I want to thank you for volunteering as well. :hi5: :D
