I don't get the point of those "production pictures" in this case. If anything, it looks to be a one off made by the factory to be as good as they can get it. But clearly it isn't representative of the actual production pieces we've seen so far. Let's hope the others match it a bit more..

I'm thinking it's a Production Sample. Maybe the factory get their best painter on it to get the 'ok' from SS.

That piece is pretty good, nothing like the in hand piece.
There's no defending the brow lines.

Just looked on SF, I'm keeping well away from that mess.

For $500 this would have been barely acceptable. But at $1200 or whatever it is, it's unacceptable. Didn't Sideshow even delay this a whole year or something to make improvements?

Wow. Damn. I originally had this EX on PO but pulled it after the delay and saved my NRD. Was thinking about POing again but after JYE thoughts and all these pics, it's just not worth 1200+. XjamieX, totally man, 500 is barely acceptable, for this amount of coin this ting should be stellar.

It's too bad too. Hopefully people who get him are happy with him. Man, I just got my new THOR PF too and that thing is near flawless. It's beautiful.

I have to admit that the Neca 1:4 scales looked WAAY nicer than this for the money. That paint app is absolutely horrendous and anyone who says otherwise is kidding yourself.

You know i'm more of a 1/6 collector, so here's a comparison with the Hot toys one on the right. I'd love to get into LSF collection, but after the shocking result of the Iron Man Mark VII LSF i had real doubts on the future products. Still i was interested to see the predator product here, especially after it being cancelled and got back for order. I think overall the sculpt is good - maybe very good, but it lacks some important details. The paintjob is the real mess in my eyes....no depth to it, armor and skin paintjob could use much more layers. And the beads on the dreads look horrific.

I'd definately put some money down for this piece, but then I'd probably send it out to a customizer to get the real deal out of this.

Thats an amazing comparison and it REALLY puts it into perspective. Once again... The bad factory paint has ruined a great sculpt.

Armour looks good but the face looks like someone threw a paint brush at it.

Where's the decals? Black patterns on the crown?
The browns are obviously hand painted... Badly!

Brow on the new pictures looks bad but nowhere near as bad as the earlier pictures posted.

While the difference is vast, that better version isn't the prototype, it is the updated production version pictures on the website. The prototype was at an even higher level. I guess that particular production piece was much better than Max's for some reason...

There's no doubt that's they touched up a production piece to look less crappy than what was being sent out, but not as good as the prototype. It's really a shame they have resorted to this. It's more than obvious that they are not confident in the shipped product. What was the delay in this after all? Are we to assume that it looked worse???
