So we know Sauron and Ringwraith are on their way although likely to be months before we see actual production pictures. Rumours of production problems on the RWoS. When are we likely to see something else from this line? It's been almost a year if not more since the Black Orc. Didn't SS say they hoped to release 2-3 pieces a year?

Sauron likely to be LSF so this could be a couple of years away before we see in hand pictures.

Anyone else disappointed with how this line has been put on the back burner with all those great looking 1/6th scale maquettes getting released on a pretty regular basis.

I'm very disappointed with it being put on the back burner. It almost feels like LOTR stuff always gets put on the back burner. I just hope this line doesn't become another dead line for sideshow

I really would liek to see an Elessar or TT Aragorn. Of course other characters that haven't been on made also but I've always like to see how the armor would come out

Yes. I'm very happy that most of the LOTR fans here are enthused with the maquette line, but as I mentioned in one of the other LOTR threads, the PF line is the main LOTR line for me. Besides the RWOS PF and Sauron PF / Legendary Scale Figure, SSC should be working on a Gimli, Boromir, or Saruman PF. Heck, they could do an Easterling or Haradhrim PF, or another Uruk or Orc (I know most people don't want the random orc, but the orcs and Uruks have arguably been the best PFs in the line).

Yeah Saruman, Boromir and Gimli are no brainers yet still have not happened. These could be released before the more complex Sauron and RWoS.

SDCC was extremely disappointing and that was six months ago with nothing new.

Yea I was really hoping to see a new PF at SDCC. I'm happy for those who are enjoying the maquette line as those are really great but I'd really like to see some more PFs

I could see them having the Sauron piece or RWOS piece at comic-con. I'm a bit more interested to see what statues they will have from LOTR at comic-con or The Hobbit.

I fear that this line is already dead. I pray I'm wrong. I have collected every one since the start. It's horrible to invest in a line only to have it end with a strange mix of characters.

I loved the PF line and it was hard to give it up, but I sensed that the maquette line was going to be their focus when it was announced last year, and that seems to be the case heading into 2012. The PFs have been great pieces and I hope that those of you still waiting for more will get at least a few of your most wanted before they get to the point where all of their LOTR energy is spent entirely on the maquette line.

Unfortunately all this waiting has caused me to start to lose interest. :gah:

Hopefully when they do release the RWOS or Sauron pieces, that they blow me away enough to bring back my excitement for this line.

I only collected the heroes, anyway. This seems to be the line for fans of the villain designs, particularly some of the various orcs. I never sensed that it was their priority to complete the Fellowship so much as to highlight character and creature designs that work well in this scale and format. There have been some great releases, but it was all a bit slowly paced and overly focused on the villains for me to maintain my enthusiasm.

not really, the only lotr PF i liked is the gollum. All the others looked dull and uninspiring (from the good guy side). The orcs and stuff looked a bit better but i dont collect them.

I've never owned it or scene it in person, but I don't know how they could have done Gandalf the Grey any better.

Between the 1/6 line and the fact that the Hobbit is coming up, I'm getting worried about some of the major characters getting left on the back burner. I'd like to see Gimli, Arwen, Borimir and Sarumon at least to round out the line. It would also be nice to see the other three Hobbits (maybe Merry and Pippen together, and Sam alone or with another Frodo). I don't want to see any more Orcs.

Well . . .it does feel like a loooong wait. The thing that may turn things around is an announcement right when Toyfair happens next month (Feb)

I owned Gandalf (the Grey), and he was really an incredibly impressive piece. I actually prefer the PF to the maquette--but it's a priority for me to have pieces fit into a larger collection, and the Gandalf maquette is right at home in the expanding maquette line. But the PF is, in my opinion, the greatest Gandalf collectible I've ever seen or owned. The Aragorn was also really well done. They were terrific display pieces, but there wasn't enough of a line around them to flesh out the collection. The larger line is more important to me than any individual piece, and that wasn't really there for me with the PFs because of the slow pace and emphasis on villains/orcs.

I love the Aragorn PF as well. I don't think he has been given enough credit. To date for me, this has the best likeness of Viggo of anything released so far.
