I love the Aragorn PF as well. I don't think he has been given enough credit. To date for me, this has the best likeness of Viggo of anything released so far.

+1 :)

GTG,Aragorn and Legolas are actually great sculpts!

Boromir with sword in hand and horn in the other would be incredible next to Lurtz.

Gimli would be awesome just being Gimli, but standing atop a section of Helmsdeep wall? O.O

The pf has a lot of potential. But we have no idea if we'll ever seen a Gimli in pf by now.

Anyone else disappointed with how this line has been put on the back burner with all those great looking 1/6th scale maquettes getting released on a pretty regular basis.

You speak for me also Bullseye.
The PF line is my fave. :rock
Some new would be much appreciated for sure. :impatient:

I'm very disappointed with it being put on the back burner. It almost feels like LOTR stuff always gets put on the back burner. I just hope this line doesn't become another dead line for sideshow.

That would be very hard for me to bear Gipetto0812.
I have all the PFs to-date, it would kill me not to be able to add to it at this point. :monkey2

I owned Gandalf (the Grey), and he was really an incredibly impressive piece. I actually prefer the PF to the maquette--but it's a priority for me to have pieces fit into a larger collection, and the Gandalf maquette is right at home in the expanding maquette line. But the PF is, in my opinion, the greatest Gandalf collectible I've ever seen or owned. The Aragorn was also really well done.

Couldn't agree more Tom.

GTG is an outstanding piece and one of faves. :rock

Have never seen anything as good in any other line (imho).

The maquette is very good too, not as good, but very good none-the-less. :rock

I agree Fremen.

However it was let down badly when the changed the head sculpt or paint from the prototype.

Works better for me now.

Sideshow please don't kill this superb line.

I prefer the PF line over the maquettes, but that's just a preference of size. I like 1:4 scale more than 1:6. Plus I just can't afford to collect both.

That being said, I only have GTG PF because I wanted a character representative of both LOTR and The Hobbit. I want Gollum as well, but I simply just don't have the room for him.

My ultimate LOTR PF is an Easterling, but the odds of Sideshow making one is pretty much nil.

After a hiatus of a few months, Sideshow has been posting Production Peek Videos the last four weeks, two of which were Star Wars items. I'm holding out hope...a fool's hope, that we'll see an LOTR one before the Production Peeks go on hiatus again...hopefully, today...

The pf line is awesome. The job sideshow has done with the costumes, sculpts, etc are well done. If I am picking a line that I think is the lotr flagship line is the maquettes. That is and has always been for me where lotr looks its best.

not really, the only lotr PF i liked is the gollum. All the others looked dull and uninspiring (from the good guy side). The orcs and stuff looked a bit better but i dont collect them.

dull and uninspiring? nonsense

I'd be gutted if SS stopped this line,i'm aware they are addressing problems with the RWOS PF,so can't put it up for PO until said issue's are rectified, so i'm guessing the original plan was to have it up by now, which means the wait seem's very long

Well, there was mention of SARUMAN coming sometime this year when the announcement came up about SAURON last year. Maybe the white wizard will appear sooner than later with the RWOS hold-up. I'd be fine with that!

we also need GIMLI...He is a MUST-HAVE. My hunters are lonely without the third member of the crew to complete the display! :wink1:

I feel the PF line is one of the most impressive lines to date. I kind of mentally rank things by if I had to sell off my collection, a line at a time, what would be the last to go. The SSW pieces and the PF's would likely hold on until the bitter end. :) I do like the new maquettes and their complexity, but it will be a long time before it can form a complete display and pieces like the daddy rog and cave troll will never be topped in my mind.

You can come and stare awkwardly at mine until they get creeped out, once I have them on display. Like "that guy" at the dance clubs. :)

Having had both i loved having them. They're still among my all time faves but I do look forward to SS attempt on them with this maquette line.

I thought I read this would focus on character-sized pieces, so large monsters were unlikely for this line?

Trimming some of my collection at the moment but the PFs were never even a consideration (yep even Galadriel); the maquettes look really nice for the most part, but I don't feel compelled to collect them like the PFs. I much prefer the 1/4 scale and the realism with the costuming.

The PF RWoS and Sauron PF will surpass anything SS or Weta will have produced with regards to LoTR in the past. Guaranteed.

The PF RWoS and Sauron PF will surpass anything SS or Weta will have produced with regards to LoTR in the past. Garuanteed.

That's a matter of opinion though. Some people really aren't into PF's or if you're like me and like them but are more into statues these may not top them.

I would like to know where all this talk about SS having issues with the RWOS is coming from?
