Preorders...When do they charge your card?

Say I were to preorder the hulk maquette. I really dont have the funds on the card I would use right now, but by the time it ships I probably would. Would the card have less funds available if i preorder it like putting the funds on hold?

read the websites pre order guidelines, sideshow does not charge until it is ready to ship unless you are doing payments with the flexpay option.
