I‘m a big enough Ghostbusters fanatic that I am willing to shell out for this, even though I already have the Blitzway.
Even though Ghostbusters are just dudes in jumpsuits with sci-fi gear, they have proven really tricky for companies to get everything right in one go. I have a 6 inch scale setup for Ghosbusters, and the best display takes parts from releases from Hasbro, Mattel, Diamond Select, NECA, and Mezco. Even though all those releases had plenty to complain about too.
Long term, I bet this is a set you use to supplement other sets. If we take Present Toys Indy as an example, it is pretty feasible to source better fitting khaki pants. There are lots of Indiana releases and even random 1/6 figures with khaki pants. Ghostbusters gear is very specific, and we have only had Blitzway and decades old Mattel releases anywhere near ‘modern’ 1/6 collecting. You won’t find parted out Blitzway stuff and pay that price to dress up the Present toys release. The Mattel stuff, which I own, are toys and not collector quality pieces. Which leaves you waiting for yet another release to fix the deficiencies.
If you‘re looking for ‘one and done,’ this set likely isn’t it. But I am willing to bet $840 that in five years from now when we talk about the ‘best in class’ pieces to cobble together, somethings from these releases will be on the list.
