This looks better than the flat chested hot toys version.

Exactly what I was thinking. I might have to give HT the win on the face sculpt but armor sculpt and color is all prime 1. Sad I don't collect statues, this and the panther suit are a beauty.

Why? It's a fantastic summer blockbuster.

Not everything has to be The Dark Knight.

Stop you know damn well this was an extremely hated movie in the 90s and people hated and crapped on it . I?m surprised it?s getting love to

This movie wasn’t hated on at all. In fact I don’t recall anyone saying they disliked it. Everyone in the theater seemed to love it.

I think it's a bit black and white to say either everyone hated or loved it

Back then, it was all we had, so it was probably quite popular and as a child I knew no different. Looking back with adult eyes, I have nostalgia like a lot of people and these look awesome. I'm looking forward to seeing the finished product and more pics. However, there's no way I would buy one of these or anything from batman and Robin as they're just not good films

I'm sorry to say that burton's films don't stand up either but that's another matter

Also after the shambles of ww 1984 and semi fail of josstice league/snyder cut I'm glad I don't have any expensive gal gadot pieces. To me comics will last forever but films will always be dated eventually

Agree with you except for the last bit. I liked this movie as a kid, but as you said, it was all we had and we were kids. It's a terrible movie that hasn't aged well, and isn't iconic in any way. Not something I would buy a high end statue from.

However, I don't agree that all films will be dated, bit silly to assume this. If that's the case we wouldn't have so many classic and iconic films that are still loved today many years later.

If you're talking about comic movies only, I still don't agree. The Dark Night was released in 2008 and is still widely regarded as not only the best comic movie of all time, but one of the best movies of all time in general (currently number 3 on IMDB's top 100). An instant classic and incredibly iconic.

You're right of course, i love begins and TDK and Ledger's joker in particular I'd be happy to have a collectible of. I'm just more of a comic collector, guess I'm a bit salty that they couldn't really make affleck work longer term as the initial pic in front of the Batmobile looked amazing, he looked like the perfect live action batman. I really enjoyed BVS and the news he was going to direct and star in a standalone bat movie just sounded so good. But circumstances and decisions meant it wasn't to be

I also like bale but he's not a comic inspired batman to me and too realistic for me to spend money on statues except maybe Ledger. He didn't even have a proper cave or Batmobile, however the films are mostly great

As a result of JL and no more batfleck, I no longer want any batfleck statues. WW was a good film but JL was meh and 1984 was awful so I no longer want any gadot pieces

Good old reliable comics though, that's where it's at for me, I sound so old haha

Yeah that's fair enough. I too liked Ben Affleck as Batman and would have loved to have seen him in a standalone Batman film as his take on the character was pretty awesome.

I'm actually not a comic fan in the slightest, I just like the movies (and the cartoon from when I was younger), which is probably why Nolan's trilogy was so appealing to me as I get the impression it was aimed at a more casual audience with the realistic setting, so you're right, he wasn't really a comic inspired Batman.

Perhaps Pattinson's Batman might capture that vibe a bit better. The trailer certainly looked good.

Nolan did a lot of great things with his trilogy, namely actually making batman work in a semi realistic world, and also making good/great films (I didn't care for dkr as much). He did well with the writing and themes, but mostly in the first two, and captured a lot of who Batman is - I loved his playboy Bruce being basically an act and how Batman didn't kill / tried his best not to lol

However, superman could never exist in that universe so they needed a reboot

Pattinson will be another good take on the character, but a different one nonetheless

If you ever feel the need to get into the comics, I recommend knightfall as it shows how clever bane really is. Also the dark knight returns and killing joke, you'll see parallels to the films and where the inspiration came from

Thanks for the recommendations on the comics, maybe I'll check them out some day.

Yea it was. People use to make fun of it all the time. That?s why I?m surprised by the love it gets now. I loved Batman forever. But I separate it from the burton verse

Yes BF is silly but it was pretty well received the year it was released. A fun new take on the universe. But then B&R came out and people quickly started hating all things Schumacher and then unfairly lumped Forever in with that from that point on.

I think that Nolan and Snyder were nice pallet cleansers that finally allowed a lot of people to revisit both Schumacher flicks for the hilariously ridiculous (and as a result genuinely entertaining) toy commercials that they were.

I like this "Schumacher renaissance", it's fun. Personally, I'd rather see new Schumacher Batman merchandise over Burton, Nolan and Snyder stuff.

All of the latter has been done. Schumacher Batman hasn't. I mean yeah you had Kenner action figures and Applause vinyl statues, but nothing to of the extent of high end action figures and statues. The Panther suit and Robin in particular have gone decades without being properly represented in collectible form as I feel they should. People can say what they will about how they feel about those movies, but they're undeniably iconic in their own right.

As far as Prime 1 and Hot Toys goes, I'll take a 1995 Robin over GCPD "John Blake" any day. I remember in the early 2010s when there was a Batman 66' renaissance and people were trying to diss it. I pay no heed to those people. If they were running the show, we wouldn't have gotten all the cool Adam West Batman stuff over the years.

Unfortunately I'm one of those who can't stand the Adam West TV show. However, I'm glad that there's a Schumacher revival as the more different interpretations of batman, the better. Every one brings something new to the table, a different way of looking at his world and if you don't like one version, that's okay - which can only be good

No, it wasn’t. People make fun of it now sure, like Khev says in the quote below it unfortunately gets associated with its god-awful sequel. People loved it at the time of its release, I don’t recall anyone saying anything bad about it.

Agreed.
