I always think this on various Sideshow PF's etc which are crazy priced now, and then they're slapped with an ES of 5.000.000. I think a lot more people are buying these things now, and apparently they're all much better off than I am. I'd love to see this have a nice low ES, but I would be surprised if it's less than 1500 total for the Reg and DX.
Exactly man. Go on facebook and there are thousands of collectors and a massive chunk of them have 1/3 statues like they're 1/6 figures. This hobby is becoming a rich mans game as the prices increase and the quality is upped.

PCS Goro for example, that had an ES of 150 and was amazing. I've watched two struggle to sell for retail. Sure predator is a bigger license, arguably with more fans willing to shell out but I just don't believe with how many look to have sold now they wont be hanging around afterwards.

I can see these and the city hunter being around direct even once they've shipped. Certainly wouldn't surprise me.

Earlier I was referring to the predator 2 lifesize bust but I'm an idiot. It's coolprops.

I actually recon this entire hobby will fall flat on its arse eventually like comics years ago and the value on it all will plummet for a long while. Not necessarily soon but in the end. The market is full to the brim with companies and statues and they're all priced crazy with a high ES on a lot of them. That's without even mentioning all of the custom companies and bootleg guys that make collectibles now.

That's another reason I'm convinced they might stick around. All these rich guys buying them up now just think they're cool. Us lot that have been collecting all of our lives and have a real passion for it can snatch up the good stuff when they're bored of it lol.

I love it and want it very much, but still waiting for a damn ES. Like others have said, why order it now if the ES is high and it's going to be in stock for awhile? The IS P2 has a decent ES, but you can still get that one too, so I don't think mass amounts of people are ordering these during this time. I expect the DX ES to be in the 500 range. This is still a very expensive piece, even though it seems justified.

I guess the "hobby" is no different to anything else in life.

Glad there are plenty of people on this forum that:
1) Don't use credit to buy.
2) Don't buy to sell - and instead buy to enjoy.

That way you're only disappointed when you open a box to find bad QC (cough - Sideshow - cough) :)

your not playing the game then man. You gotta buy all of your statues with your CC, then pay it off before the 30days, so you don't get hit with interest. That way, you get all those rewards points. I put almost everything on my CC now.

Where did you see an ES for the Infinity Studios City Hunter?

I only know because I ordered it yesterday :slap

Is there anybody here that does Farcebook, that has seen any definitive answers there from PRIME1 regarding scale or netting (sculpted or real)?

If not, would somebody please ask them?

I'm more curious/concerned about the netting than the scale (since we approximated long ago that this was likely slightly larger than 1:4)

.

I asked the question in the Prime 1 group several months back. One random fan responded, confident that the netting on the final product would be fabric, but also that the possibility of tearing makes it more accurate to the film (yeah, I rolled my eyes as well).

He's no longer part of the group, so not the most reliable source. I sent Prime 1 a direct PM, we'll see if they respond.

Just read this on an unrelated statue thread...

For example, here in the Netherlands, we usually pay 21% custom fees/taxes on products. However, Prime 1 Studios marks their products as "original art" (I believe) and because of that, I only pay 6% on P1's pieces.

Now that would be a huge bonus. Can anyone in Europe verify?
