Yeah this piece would be a hard sell. The mass majority cant afford to spend over $1400 for a statue plus shipping. I think you'll be able to get this guy at retail or slightly less down the line.

When I went through my collection reshuffle and decided to just focus on Spidey and Bats, I sold loads of pieces and must say, took a loss on every single one apart from Obi Wan Mythos.
I kinda just write off the expense of a statue now. Like a night on the town or a new pair of pants! But a really expensive pair of pants!

Coming from someone that just started fairly recently in collecting, I've always purchased statues based on what I absolutely love either about the character or the statue itself. However I do see a lot of people that seem to buy with the intent of flipping a profit later on (ie. an investment) whereas I purchase statues with the intent of keeping them forever. I know people have mentioned other reasons such as making room for new pieces or running right on money for other things (why would you ever get yourself in that position to begin with, but anyways that's a topic for another day). I was always curious what the actual potential profit was and obviously depends on the piece but interesting to hear.

A piece is only worth what someone is willing to pay for it :lecture

Yeah same here. Ive only had to really sell pieces to buy other pieces or because of big events in life and I instantly regret it as soon as it's out the door.
Nowadays, my collection is purely based on love. (Ah how hippy of me)
I know that I'm not going to break even or make a profit on a $1400 Killer Croc statue and I'm fine with that.
I've wrote off that money. These pieces are with me until death!
Then my wife can try and sell them if she wants but I've warned her stay away from eBay and the snakes on FB groups

I hear ya. I think this statue is absolutely beautiful. Do I NEED it in the collection, no. (Technically we don't need any of these, it's just a hobby :lol ) I definitely would like to have it on display for a long time because it is a great work of art, always liked the character since B:TAS, but there's gonna be a time when something new and more awesome comes out and you're gonna want space for it, so I'm trying to decide whether it's worth keeping if the WL converts or to pass and wait on other more desirable pieces that would be more staples for the collection, which we don't even know at this point what they will look like or if they will be as appealing compared to this.

I'm contemplating selling my HT Christopher Reeve Superman in hopes there will be a P1 statue reveal that will replace it, but as of now there's no info whether there will be one or how it will look, if it looks anything like the Sideshow one then I'd rather keep the HT :lol I don't purchase things with the intent to flip or sell in the aftermarket, I've kept nearly all the pieces in the collection for years now, but at some point you're going to have to sell to make room unless you got the money and space to afford not to. Everyone wants something they can hang onto forever but that's not always the case, that's just the nature of this hobby. If I could keep this guy for 10+ years, I'd love to.

The Ex is now sould out.
I ordered mine at first day of preorder from a german dealer for about 1900$ with 15% deposit to get a guarantee that i get him.
It sold out here within hours too.

A lady from Sideshow actually emailed me personally and notified me that it was up for PO. As it was about 1 in the morning here in the UK, I count myself lucky and was very thankful to that lady from Sideshow. Also the fact that I'm a night owl helps as well.
I'm well chuffed that I've got this coming.

Slightly off topic but was just thinking if Prime One end up doing a Solomon Grundy from Arkham Ciy, how big do you reckon that will be!?

That would be ginormous... :lol He was like twice the size of Venom Bane right? I might be confusing with Origins.

Yeah just recently played it again. He's huge. Much bigger than Bane and Killer Croc. He would have to be at least 45 inches I reckon

None of Prime's Arkham pieces sell for big money. Yet, most look absolutely stunning. The one statue I thought had a great shot at spiking in the aftermarket was Deathstroke. However, they made way too many of them. Can you imagine if Deathstroke had an ES along the lines of Mr. Freeze? I truly believe that DS would have been very sought after if that was the case. As it stands, most Prime pieces can be had for retail or less.

Deathstroke is amazingly detailed, but I think due to its being released as one of the first in the line, a lot of collectors were asking if it was worth the upgrade to 1:3 for a villain and decided to hold out for a 1:4 one instead. Now that more P1 Arkham stuff is rolling out and 1:3 is better established, I think it's aftermarket value will rise once collectors realizing he's missing from their lineup. It might take a while, though. Also doesn't help that, despite SS dropping the ball with their comic PF, he's in so much media now, there's potential for plenty more licensed DS statues from Arrow, the upcoming solo Batman movie, etc. to compete.

Give it time. Most of them haven't been out long enough yet.

I got an email from sideshow that my ex waitlist is cancelled : ( I got on the waitlist an hour after the ex went on waitlist

Wow, they're cancelling the WL on Freeze, bloodborn, thanos, they have to be trying to push orders for the reg IMO. I got on the WL for Freeze in the first 15 min but I don't think there will be many conversions on this given the small ES...

Did everyone get them at once? I'm waitlisted too but haven't received anything. Do they send emails over the course of a few days?

you called the WL here so I assume you got on WL even before me? what is the time stamp on your email from SS confirming your WL order?
