Re: Prime 1 Studios Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles
Original Transformers was the only decent one imo.

I'm with you lol. I wasn't too into the new look of the turtles at first and thought the movie would change my opinion if it was good. However I really didn't like the movie at all and I don't think they should even continue with a sequel tbh.The statues are cool looking but after watching the movie today, I'm not so sure anymore about wanting these statues, the movie was that bad...

Bay should just quit movies, they are all pretty bad.
I think it was a good kids movie, I'm sure kids 8-15 thought It was cowabunga dude thus the $477 million because these kids probably saw it 4-5 times in the theater. But as a movie for adults to see, I think it' fails... IMO....
I would of preferred a more mature darker overtone type of Turtle movie, more for adults then just kids... I think they made this movie to much like the cartoons with lots of cheesy one liners and a very thin story line... I think Michael Bay is great at doing action scenes, he just sucks when it comes to doing story. 5-10 years ago you could cover up a week story with cool special effects and action scenes, but people are used to those things now so the wow factor has diminished, now a days people want a strong story... IMO...
They do have a sequel listed for 2016, but I bet it does nowhere near as good as this one, because a lot of people saw this one out of curiosity hoping it would be good, now they know what to expect for the sequel I bet the gross take won't be as high as the first one..
I understand your point. But do you understand the differences between the percentage of adults that like TMNT to the percentage of kids. It would have literally been suicidal for them to make it a more mature movie... I'm shocked they even made it pg13...
You just said the majority of people that saw it were kids. That's why it made 400 mil. Kids are not going to support a sequel? Doubt that. Haha
I understand if you don't like it, but it was a pretty successful movie in both the state's and internationally.
Critics Consensus: Neither entertaining enough to recommend nor remarkably awful, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles may bear the distinction of being the dullest movie ever made about talking bipedal reptiles.
Keep in mind a lot of an adults saw it also (probably only once) in hopes it would be a more mature movie about the Turtles, now that everyone knows it's just another kids movie I bet you'll loose a good size percentage of the gross in the sequel... Just a guess though... The really successful movies find a happy medium between making adults happy and kids wanting to see it 10 times
I think this describes the movie best from RT which gave it a score of 22%:
Anyways it's just my opinion about the movie.... I know some adults loved it...
Rotten Tomatoes is a joke! They are a bunch of followers. Tmnt got a 22%? Dumb and Dumber Too is currently at 25% and it might have been the worst movie I've ever seen. Noway tmnt was that bad. Rotten tomatoes is full of people who enjoy to tear movies apart.
Critics don't keep their jobs if they praise movies. The numbers I care about are the viewers reviews. 5.6/10. That's about where I put it. 6/10 was my score. But with krang/bebop and rocksteady rumored to be involved in the next film, there's definitely hype.
I heard D&D was hilariousDumb and Dumber not funnY? oh man, I am so looking forward to it. TMNT is ok, my 7 year old kid loves it... So, it's targeted for kids. Oh well, better than no TMNT at all I say. =)

Perhaps, but so did the transformer films and they were all crap too.Made 4 times its budget... So a sequel is happening.
What your describing makes it even less.of TMNT film. Even though the original comics were tad more violent they were by no means "mature" or sophisticated. Trying to make a movie such just changes the Turtles like what many are complaining this movie did but in a different direction.I think it was a good kids movie, I'm sure kids 8-15 thought It was cowabunga dude thus the $477 million because these kids probably saw it 4-5 times in the theater. Pffft, not this "hater" eff Michael Bay, I'm not putting any money in his pockets while he tramples properties I likeBun all this nonsense. The sequel will make more money, and the haters will go to see it. Maybe not all of them, but a huge chunk of them will go.

That movie is the best CBM ever! The old TMNT movie, I think I was about 9-11 years old. If I watch it now, it feels like a kid movie as well. So, not much has change =)
