Theres always that one girl thats been around and everyone kind of knows shes trouble. And newcomers are warned. Shell get super drunk and wait till bar closes until some desperate guy falls for it but regrets it some weeks later....lol

Not worth it bro.

And that poor sap would probably be me. I'd wake up in the morning with both my wallet and dignity gone. :lol

I know that Ridley Will cheat as he cheated with the engineers size but having the derelict landing/crashing on lv426 at the end of Covenant 2 or 3 (whatever they Will be called) Will definitly diminish the impact of having it being there for eons...
(It cannot have happened before Prometheus or covenant because the eggs are going to be created by you know who)

Man it was already annoying when Prometheus was taking place on lv426, and the juggernaut revealed to be the derelict (who crashed because the engineer had a chestburster, giving birth to the first biomechanoid xenomorph) but it was straight and worked.
Ridley have not respect for his own mythos he just making it as he goes whatever the path....

At this point I'm indifferent. Regardless of what Ridley does, the Derelict and Space Jockey will have no known origin in my minds mythos.

Not worth it bro.

Just get a handy then. No fuss, no muss.

I find the level of speculation and rampant fear-mongering in the internetz in general, and the movie threads in particular, just mind-boggling...

I am always happy to get a high production sci-fi film..... I find most of them to be entertaining and cool to watch........at least.

Scott said this will be the goriest of the Alien movies.

I like that. Not enough gore lately.

I can see this catching on. Suddenly, Kong is gory... then they make the ultimate "gorey" Dark Knight movie. Then even Star Wars gets into the act with a bloody gore-fest lightsaber duel.

Gritty is out! Gore is in!

Prometheus took place on LV223.

This was a post production decision.
Originaly the planet was lv426, there was no black goo cannisters, but eggs.
The engineer in the end was infected by a facehugger and was angry at the human because they basically killed him when they woke him up as he was waiting to be rescued (guess they forgot about him lol)
He takes off with the ship and gets chestbustered igiving birth to the first xeno (hence the biomechanical features because of the engineers morphology).
Ship crashes and yu realize that it was the derelict from alien.
On set they had eggs cast and remember that the engineers pile of body had chest with holes.
Basically they toyed with these ideas up until the last minute, to have xeno or not, being a direct alien prequel or not.
Scott decided against it, remember the "alien is used and no more frightining" declarations.
Now he is going back to the original plans, hes getting rid of all the engineer aspects (angels , demons) and go straight back to Alien.

As i followed closely Prometheus production, i did the same for Covenant and yes once more there are reasons to be worried.
On a sidenote if yur just expecting a by the number Alien flick you re gonna have a great time.
Even if you basically saw everything in the trailer and can connect the dots.
Personnaly seeing What could have been its such a waste of time and cool concepts.

I mostly look forward to seeing the toys from these films now anyway. Aside from NECA, there's been ****all announced. Not expecting anything from HT.

What is the 'could have been' aspect? Was/is there a leaked un used original treatment of a totally different story line?

Was the possible aspect heard long ago that
Daniels was to be Ripley's mother
an aspect from some un used story line? I can't fathom that aspect (if it was true) being a better way to go with it honestly....

Just wait until CC2!
