PS4 OR Xbox One?

I actually wanted to say that but I didn't want to come across that I'm favouring ms but I don't but there fanboy hate is to strong out there right now

I would say the best looking game is Rise so that would mean they used the hardware the best. Is that saying it can't change nope but right now there is very little to go off of.

Yeah a online poll is pointless as the fanboy part is still rabid. I would love to have a actual survey of people who are confirmed to have both.

Controller: Xbox one. The Ps4 is much improved and the xbox one is slightly worse than the 360 but the location of the sticks still put the xbox on top for me.

Hardware: If we want to go based on pure specs PS4, if you want to go on the way its been used its a tie maybe a tick in the xbox's direction.

Game Library: If you want to look at actual available games I would have to say Xbox, to me another Tie.

UI: At first glance the Sony is simpler but could get worse as you get more games. Xbox was a tad more confusing(especially if your not use to windows 8). Really I don't have a real preferce unless you bring Kinect in to the fold then its easier but I don't have the PS camera so i don't know if that really makes it better

Online: I would give xbox a slight edge as it seems to have better bandwidth. It seems like PS downloads are painfully slow. Past that they are about the same.

Overall: I would have to Xbox but really it comes back to the controller. I play the PS more online but purely because friends went with PS, but if I am not playing online I will play Xbox more but thats also because I have more games I haven't finished on the Xbox.

Yeah I'm pretty much on agreement with what you mentioned. I 100% agree with what you said about the hardware. I deleted my comment just before you posted like an idiot by mistake but it was basically what you said anyway.

If you love gaming then get both if you can, there both awesome machines. If thats not possible then get the console which you think will have the best exclusives. Like what mfoga said theres way to many fanboys out there to get a fair comparison. Especially on a site like IGN

Yeah kinda agree with allot of the above. The ps4 is one dam sexy bit of kit. The controller is way better than the ps3 but the xbox pad is the best. I love the rumble motors and the grips. Very close tho. I like the ps4s ui but what microsoft have managed to do with voice commands is pretty fantastic. Without that function, its a bit of a mess.
Best looking game is Ryse. The forest part was jaw dropping and I stopped so many times to look around.
Just need those games to come out now.

I haven't invested in either console yet, but I've got my eyes on Titanfall.
I hope it delivers because that would make me jump into the next gen.

I will def pick up the ps4. Just waiting for that one big game to make me part with my money. I know people rave about infamous but it just doesnt interest me.
With Sony announcing ps Now and Microsoft probably doing the same, I wonder if they will under cut Sony to try and boost sales figures and pull in the people that have not crossed platform ?

No surprise. Was this launch better than the 360 launch? By the looks of those picture it doesn't look like it.

I like Phil Spencer but he's still got a lot of work to do to fix Don Mattrick's dumb assness. I'm curious to see how many XBones sell next week with the free game giveaway they're doing.

Hey guys sorry to bring up this thread again but I am a prospective buyer and I need help making a decision. Basically, I use my ps3 right now to watch movies by attaching an external hard drive. I know that neither xbox or ps4 supported this but now I've heard that xbox one does support this. Is this true? This is a deal breaker for me. Is ps4 going to have it?

Xbox One supports external HD's. I can use my Seagate if I wanted but the Xbox will reformat the HD before you can use it. I believe the PS4 has internal swappable HD's like the 360 used to.

I honestly couldn't say. When I found out I had to reformat the HD before being able to install games on it, I didn't bother. My HD has my laptop backup and a ton of music I'd rather not lose. One would hope you could throw files on the HD after the formatting but I'm not gonna find out first hand.

My guess is that they probably do something so that it won't be readable on a computer after you format it with the Xbox, since they don't want you just opening the game install files on your PC.

Right now you can easily read video files off a thumb drive though.
